Let's try this again!
I picked up this baby from Elio and I went thru the manual to see what little odds and ends may be missing. Elio has been nothing short of excellent in this entire transaction. This is the last step in our transaction to figure out what parts if any may have been left behind. We are hoping to iron this out in one shot with the help of other ESS TS2 owners and ESS Directly.
Here's the parts list :
Inlet manifold , qty =1
Inlet for supercharger, qty =1
Intercooler cores, qty =3
End caps with connectors, qty =2
Supercharger with 85mm pulley, qty =1
Oilventilation valve with hose, qty =1

From what I see going thru the install manual, everything I highlighted in red I am not sure I have. These notes are straight from the install manual
***8226; Now you will see 4 free bolts sitting on the frame in front of the radiator. The front heat exchanger element is installed on the two lower bolts (Pic.67). The front element comes preassembled, but you might have to loosen the bolts a little to make it fit. The two L shaped brackets are installed onto the free bolts (Pic.68 and Pic.69). Secure them with supplied ESS nuts and washers using a 13mm socket. Tighten all the bolts on the element assembly.
Install the ESS pump on the bottom part of the left inner fender. (Air filter side of the car). Hold the pump in the position shown in the picture below. Mark up where the bracket holes will be drilled (Pic.70). (Where is the bracket?)Remove the pump and drill two 6.5mm (1/4inch) holes using a drill (Pic.71). Install the pump using supplied rubber mountings, washers and nuts (Pic.72). Secure the nuts using a 10mm socket.
***8226; Locate the indicated red/white wire inside the DME box (Pic.73). Tap into the wire and connect the long red pump wire with the fuse holder
Secure the bracket using the supplied bolts (Pic.99)
Anyone care to help us out on this, it would be greatly appreciated. The oil is still in the charger, what kind of oil is it? I have two belts and the gasket that aren't pictured in case people are wondering. Chime in, I need to get this thing installed before it snows!
Thanks,
Fran

Hope it all gets sorted out for you. I don't know why they would forget parts when shipping to a customer. Check list FTW. :)

If you are not planning to use a cherry picker, it might be a good idea to wrap the sc pulley or take it off and put it on when the assembly is in. It's very easy to bend that with the weight of the assembly. We knocked that thing against the engine bay and it bent in multiple areas. I already had a 7.0psi pulley, so the 6.5 pulley was dispensable, but if you plan to keep it, I'd be super careful.
You do need a new ESS manifold gasket for sure. That and the new belt seem to be missing.

Thank you...going from memory from the instruction manual, it says they are "capped" but I obviously don't have the caps either. I would use one for a boost gauge but don't see how the other vaccum line could be for a fuel pressure regulator unless that connects to the small line coming out of the silicone sleeve in my first picture

The fuel pressure regulator vacuum/boost port MUST be connected to the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose which is originally connected to the lower connection on the F connector attached to your your OEM throttle body->MAF plastic elbow. It is VERY important that this is connected in order to provide the correct vacuum and boost compensation to the fuel pressure. The other port is for testing/boost gauge and can be plugged if you do not need it. You can order a plug from us to replace the brass fitting (comes with new kits), or you can simply attach a plugged hose.

-There are no new dipstick tube used with this kit.
-The nuts/washers used are regular metric nuts, can be found easily at any hardware store locally, no need to pay $ to ship.
-The pump can be secured using 2 good size tie wraps, drill 4 holes in the bottom plastic cover and secure using the tie wraps through the holes. This is much easier to mount and works the same. I know Elio used this, which is why he probably forgot the included the bracket.
Looks to me like you are all set to go.

Thanks for the tips,
I don't have an issue with the shipping since I would like to order a gasket and radiator hose. All the other missing parts can be included in that shipment, like the bracket, fuse holder, dipstick plug etc.
Maybe I need a new set of instructions and parts list from you. The instruction manual is dated 2/13/07. The instructions you sent to ELio awhile ago stated this plug on the dipstick tube. Is this step not required?:
Step 7: Install ESS supplied plug on dipstick tube.
Tools required: -Flathead screwdriver
***8226; Locate the free outlet on the dipstick tube (Pic.59) where you pulled off the hose earlier. Install the supplied ESS plug hose to seal off this opening. Secure the clamp using a flathead screwdriver (Pic.60). Make sure you don***8217;t twist or bend too much on the dipstick tube. You might damage the O-ring that seals the tube down into the oil pan.
Also, am I missing these items?
Extension hose for fuel rail, qty =1
End caps with connectors, qty =2

Yes, you need the plug for the dispstick tube hose, I thought you ment a new dipstick..
The end caps/connectors are already on your TS manifold.
There is no need for a fuel rail extension hose on your model.

this sucks... After we removed and stripped the old manifold, installed everything else, we discovered that the 90 degree 11cm hose that connects the manifold with the idle valve is missing. Now my car sits half-disassembled in the garage.
Called ESS @ Norway and they will include a new hose when they ship back my ECU but I was hoping to have everything ready by the time ECU arrives.
ESS, will I have a problem if I just use a hose from my local shop? with steel wires inside..
fmzip
11-20-2007, 08:56 AM
Do you mean the one in my picture, the real small one? I would assume a water line hose would be sufficient.
paraklas
11-20-2007, 09:18 AM
Yes the real small one.
The support at ESS stressed that the hose must be with steel wires inside to avoid problems with suction. I can't find a hose here, steel belted, that can bend 90 degrees in such a short distance

Bummer....There has gotta be something local. This is a Ford kit and the hose in the picture may work for you, my guess is it's a waterpump hose.
Asbjorn, regarding hoses, is there something specific to the long water line hoses also? I was wondering if I could put something a little more attractive on instead. While I am ordering things, you can add this little hose to the list:

fmzip :
The newer version ESS IC coolant hose is all black. It is strongly recommended to use the ESS supplied IC hose as this is a custom designed hose which even if bent excessively is not possible to reduce flow in. The hose has extremely good quality and you can order the newer version of it without the printed yellow text on from us if this is important to you.
paraklas :
Have you checked the entire content of the box? That ICV hose is placed by itself in the box and it is quite small so it can hide easily. According to your packing list the hose was in the kit when it shipped out, so unless customs/FedEx has misplaced it during inspection it should be there. We will send you a new one along with your ECU as well, but do double check the content of the box once more just to be sure.

I haven't seen an invoice......it's 7:15PM eastern standard time.
I feel as though I've been extremely patient, but my patience is growing thinner by the minute. If you could explain why this is so cumbersome to get some hardware pulled and shipped, maybe that would be helpful.

We are working on your requests as I write this. Since I got many different requests from you I an trying to narrow down exactly what you did and did not want.
Did you want the new all black IC hoses? They are quite expensive at USD 135 for the pair so if you don't mind the inscription in the old ones you will save quite a bit of change.
So far we have listed:
-Fuel rail spacers with bolts : USD 15
-Vacuum hoses with fittings for TS manifold : No charge
-Dipstick tube plug : No charge
-ICV 90degree elbow new type USD 18
Anything else you want that I have missed?
Regular mail or FedEx express shipping?
If you would like to pay using a credit card, can you please fax the cc and shipment address info to (240)220-6032?
Thanks!

^^^^Back to this post, everything in bold I need. You and I spoke about the radiator hose, we can skip that as discussed. I don't need the 2 long hoses either, I inquired about the appearance of them and if there were alternatives.

I am also missing a bolt and spacer on my pulley as pointed out previously. This is what it should look like, mine only has the one bolt and spacer on the left, not on the right:

Can you confirm that everything I stated in this single post is clearly understood.

I'm surprised your used kit is missing those vacuum hoses, the spacers and etc...previous owner forgot them or are you getting extra stuff for insurance? I have plenty of loctite stuff leftover if you end up not getting them through ESS. Good luck man...it'll be worth it.

^^^What you see is what I got.....the troubling point is that I don't know "exactly" what is missing, I am comparing pictures and hoping ESS could look at this thread and tell me what is missing. At this point I want to order everything in my previous post.
I just want to make certain I have everything, if I have extra parts, I could care less at this point.
To answer your question, the two vaccum lines w fittings and clamps are missing, the pulley bolt and spacer are missing, the fuse holder is missing, the dipstick tube is missing, the bracket for the airpump is missing. I do not have the loctite(s). I fully understand with a removal of this kit, there would be a good possibility of a few things missing. Simple fix, just reorder everything that's not there.....
All the hoses and fittings on the silicone sleeve I would like to order because what I got with my kit has to many pieces, too many opportunitites for leaks in my opinion.
This is what I have in the two pictures:

Hopefully I will get to install it soon....I am going to have a stock dyno done today.....

The elbow hose with writings seem to be replaced with a regular curved hose in your picture...But yeah, the vacuum hoses are gone, but at least the nipples are there. You can probably buy vacuum hoses that fit at an autoparts store along with the clamps, loctite. Good luck and keep us posted!

You should have received the parts offer by now? Just let me know if the listed items is OK or if you want to change/remove something and we will prepare the shipment ASAP.

The bracket that pushes the upper radiator hose has to be modified a bit because it pushes the hose too much and it bends bad.
The ATF reservoir bracket has to be modified a bit too because the reservoir touches the TS pulley
The idle control valve bracket has to be modified a bit too because the 2nd hole doesn't match with the hole on the intake manifold
The belt routing diagram in the TS2 manual is wrong and the belt needs to go a different route to fit correctly. Either that or a longer belt is required than the given one. I'll provide a diagram later.
Label the plugs because the DISA plug is identical with another plug!
Just some info so that you don't waste time on the system installation.
PS: ESS your technical support is awesome!! I must have called around 15 times yesterday and you definately know the system inside out!

Anyhow, just want to say ESS service on the phone is top notch, but the email communication could be better. But hey, that twinscrew kit is freakin worth it. It runs too good to be true. Haha. :pimpin:

Awesome guys!....Silverman, you pulled the engine?? Why?
Asjborn, I sent you an email with my payment info since your fax number had an odd busy singnal this morning. Please confirm you received it.
Thanks for the footnotes Paraklas....I wouldn't have been able to figure out what I was mssing without your help.
My luck is still running bad, yesterday went to have my car dyno'd locally, they couldn't do it. They only had a chassis dyno and my car sits way too low. Oh well....
So I drove 100 miles to Stamford Ct to get the dyno done on a dynojet....Get there this morning and....the dyno is down for the day! Freakin A!...... The owner apologized for the inconvenience and offered me a free dyno at anytime that would work for me.
4 hours wasted today, two hours yesterday....I could had the kit half installed already! Still need to get a baseline dyno done....now I have to find "another" place unless I want to go back to Stamford CT!

Asbjorn, just curious, what is the recommended "upgraded" pulley you are referring to on the invoice? I thought Elio already had the upgraded pulley....

I wish my garage has those cherry pickers. :) That was a picture sent by Hans at ESS when I had trouble with the belt routing. If it makes you feel better my car was inoperable for about a month with gathering of parts and DME programming. All worth it though!

Well my ECU is dead. Plugged it tonight to test the TS2 at last and the temp gauge went to the right end while key in position #2. This according to the things I read here indicates an ECU problem. The car would not start, just crank. No fuel pumped. All fues ok. Talked with ESS and they will ship a new ECU which I will have to re-align with my EWS. The dealer can do the realignment in 3 months from today (!!!!!) so I'll pray my carsoft interface will do the trick.

Carsoft works fine with EWS realignment. The new ECU has been prepared and will be overnighted out first thing in the morning for Saturday delivery.
Also do check all fuses to make sure they are OK.
Worst case we will extract the EWS code from your old ECU and code that into a new one here at ESS.

Thanks for the help and the new ECU. Looking forward to start the car! I have sent my old ECU today via DHL (much better service here than FedEx & same cost) and you should have it by Friday afternoon or Monday morning.
Thanks again!!

I really don't have an issue with the car being out of use, it's parked for the winter now. I am just eager to have everything I need to be all set to go. Nothing worse than being mid stream in a project missing something.
I guess I missed that part "it's a picture from Hans" I thought you were up to something insane! :)

Since you instructed us to ship it regular mail it usually takes 6-10 business days. I would expect it to arrive this week for sure.
