View Full Version : Car slightly "missing" at high RPM / Load / boost??

While I was running a car this am (see other post), I noticed a subtle but definately there "miss" at high RPM / load / boost in the higher gears...I have not had this happen before...Just had it dyno'd and it did not do this. I JUST filled the tank about 20 miles before the run...

Could it be a bad batch of pump gas that was causing the car to detonate, then the computer cut the ignition, etc.? Anything else? When driving home tonight (same day), it was cool out (about 60 degrees) and while I did not do the same LONG pulls, I did get on it a bit and did not notice any "misses". It felt like the car was cutting out (for VERY SHORT periods of time - Maybe hundred of seconds)...Little misses is the best description...No back fires, etc. Low rpms / regular driving it was perfect.

Want to be sure there are not bad coils, plugs, etc. Maybe just the computer compensating for too much boost? I am a newbie here...I will learn quickly!

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like coil packs, might want to go with the Plasma's.

I thought I ready about this issue with other cars...Can I get them tested? How much are the plasmas?

Thanks!

It's common on boosted cars, could be your plugs as well, but many go with the Plasma's and no problems, they're around 700 though! :yikes:

Whats another $700...LOL!

Anyone hear of Next Level in Altamonte Springs, FL? I was told to go there...They may be able to get it checked out, etc...

Going for another dyno run there too...To see how it compares with the other last week...
