Remove secondary air pump on race car

I was wondering, if I remove the secondary air pump on my 330ci will the ECU throw a code saying that it was disabled ?

i am gonna say yes too, since my secondary air pump was shot for the past 2 months and the CEL came on again and again

I just finished my race headers' installation so I will think about this Air pump.
The air pump harness is very simple. I don't think there is any feedback signal.

Is it the O2 sensor that throw this signal ? The pre-cat o2 must have been trained to dectect this issue ...
