I have a Canadian BMW 330ci 2002. I have installed a AA C38 supercharger.

I noticed a canister connection when connecting the line for the bypass valve. The bypass valve is connected to a nipple in the back of the intake. Beside this nipple there is another nipple where this canister is connected to.

There is a 1/8 line going down from the back of the intake to this canister. There is no valve (or whatever) between the canister and the nipple. Basically the boost is getting through this nipple. The black canister (2''x5'') is on the driver side bolted to the engine. It is behind the engin mounting bolts and the stick to measure oil level.

Anybody knows what is for this canister and how to avoid boost leak ? :hmm:

Some pictures of this canister :

Don't know, but would be interested in hearing about it if anyone does. I have an AA C38 on a 330 as well.

That is most likely the vacuum resevoir for the air injection diverter valve. There should already be a 1-way vacuum valve from the factory installed in the vacuum hose feeding it.

Finally with the help of AA I figured out that this device is used to operate the flap in the rear exhaut. All I need is to have the flap welded open and remove that reservoir.

Well Andras,
I am glad we were able to resolve the issue. Enjoy the kit...

I know there's a mod ("golf tee") that keeps that valve open for throat on low rpm, mine's always open so i assume it's been modded or maybe just stuck. but does it really present a signif leak point for boost?
