Anyone here have the HPF Feramic Stage 1 Clutch Kit on their M3????????
I am running an AA stage 3 supercharger kit on my car. I when I installed the supercharger on my I installed a UUC LTW flywheel and smoothcermic clutch. I am not to thrilled with the way the clutch and the flywheel acts in normal traffic. Plus the clattering of the LTW flywheel. I was thinking of buying the HPF Feramic Stage 1 Clutch Kit and reusing my stock flywheel. I talked to Brandon at HPF and he was great providing great info on the clutch kit as well as their turbo kit. Before I pull the trigger and get the clutch, I wanted to hear from people who has the clutch. How is the overall pefromance? Driveabilty? Feel? Engagement?
Let help would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think most if not all the turbo'd cars coming out of the HPF shop are running that clutch. It honestly has a stock feel, and has held up well for me both at the drag strip with sticky tires, and recently on the dyno at 724 rwhp. I don't think you can go wrong with this clutch.

Rob is right. The HPF Feramic clutch feels just like stock and holds the power very well.
I have driven my car almost daily for about 5 months with the clutch and I can't tell the difference between this and stock. The pedal effort is fairly light and engages with no bogging issues.

I ran the feramic on my Supra and loved it. You mentioned switching back to the stock flywheel -- which is good. The only problem with Feramic clutches is they don't work well with lightweight flywheels

I have the Feramic clutch on my Stage II SMG vert. For the first 100 miles or so I had just a tiny bit of chatter when starting in first gear. That has virtually gone away. I'm sure with a few more miles (I've barely driven the car) it will be seamless. Couldn't be happier so far.

What do you mean Chatter do you a LTW, Chatter is caused by the flywheel not the clutch

Planning on using the OEM flywheel for this

Maybe "chatter" wasn't the proper term. What I was trying to describe was that at first when the SMG would engage the clutch in first gear it wasn't as smooth as stock. It made a pulsing sensation that I was calling "chatter". This has smoothed out considerably with just a minimal amount of mileage. Raj, who's been daily driving his, is no longer experiencing this at all I believe.
I was just trying to give full disclosure that, at least with the SMG, it wasn't perfect from day one, but gets there quickly.

My car is also SMG. There is a small break in period as mentioned by HPF, I have about 1000 miles on the clutch so far, and it runs, and engages very well ( cripser than the stock unit ). Very happy with how it feels with the SMG, and the most importantly the holding power :)
I've heard people use the term "chatter or judder" as one in same. If you've ever had an overly agressive clutch disc on a street car you'll know what it feels like, trying to leave from a dead stop in 1st gear.
The great thing about the HPF clutch, (again I'm SMG), it that is engages with a stock feel without any drama, and it really clamps down, and holds the power! So far best clutch I've had in a modded car.

I only driven on a UUC LTW flywheel and theirs Cermic clutch and I hate it. On dead stops the clutch give a small jerking, I was told it was the pucks grabing. All I know is I can't stand it. I am really really really hoping that the HPF clutch is the cure

HPF clutch is PERFECT for any M3 period. It doesn't matter if your stock, supercharged, or turboed. Your going to love the clutch or I'll buy it from you............for half the price since it's used.
