I read today on a website:

"With OBD2 vehicles, you have to have the factory ECU in the car and it has to pass a scan check and the ECU has to be in readiness mode."

I have ESS TS1 on my car with ESS software on it. I was told TS1 will pass the sniffer test, and I've been hoping it'll pass the visual based on the stock appearance of the kit. Now, the quote above is starting to bug me. Could anyone familiar with the ESS ECU tuning (Hans, Asbjorn, etc.) chime in if the ESS software will pass that scan check and the readiness mode thing?

God, if my car doesn't pass smog, this car's getting parted out big time...thanks for any input guys.

The ESS software doesn't touch the readiness checks, all emissions functions operate normally. Shouldn't be a problem. That is what they spend so much time on.

Awesome! Marvelphx, do you know anything about the ESS TS CARB cert progress? How's the 335i? If all fails, can I use your address and register in AZ? Haha, just kidding, of course. Thanks for the response as always!

No idea about CARB, have to ask ESS.

The 335i is a boatload of fun... the ZHP and M3 go up for sale this week.

Here is the new ride... mods have already begun...

Nice car! I'm so torn between modding my car more vs. parting out for a 335i myself...Are you parting out your zhp? I sense some major plans for the 335i! GL and post some more pics of the new ride and congrats!

Dying to ask for a comparison between your new 335i vs your TS2 ZHP...335i has the subtle edge I would assume?
