Hey guys
I have the Technik TM15 SC unit 11.5psi with cams and stuff
now im maxed out with power with the setup and the only way to do more is to re-build the motor.
Is it possible to put new pistons and rods and doing the head and stuff with keeping the kit on. Also keeping the same software untill I can get someone to re tune it.Would it still run the same as before?.And also after turning up the boost on the unit to take use of the upgraded parts
what do you guys think

yes you can.
be sure not to alter your compression ratio.....

You have to alter the compression ratio, if not it is completely pointless to rebuild the engine for pump gas use.
I would recommend 9.2:1 for 93 octane and 9.0:1 for 91 octane. This will allow you to boost up to ~15PSI with optimal ignition settings. This is what we found from developing the TS3 kits on the M54.
Your 10.5PSI ASA kit will also run considerably better with just a drop in compression ratio as it allows the DME to run much higher ignition timing without knock.

Just a side comment not related to the OP, but I just want to express how fortunate we are to have tuners like ESS, AA, HPF, etc, chime in with advice on systems that are not even their own. They are helping the community so much with their R&D knowledge. Just want to give the tuners a  for really helping out the community!

yes your right lay2low
Thanks guys for that info, that helps to under stand what could be involved to go the distance later down the road.
ASBJORN, what RWHP number do you think I could expect from 9.0:1 for 91 octane, Also other then changing the pistons and Rods to alter the compression ratio what else should be done at the same time.
Thx man

Blueprint the block, P&P the head, stewart water pump.

Just curious, but at a 9.0:1 CR whys is 15psi the highest that it will go, and if someone wanted to get a smaller pulley and produce more than 15psi what would be needed? A lower CR than the 9.0:1?

Yes, then you need even lower CR than 9:1 unless you want to run race gas.

you will be loosing power and most importantly torque when you lower your CR and not adding more boost.
cant speak for someone elses tests, i CAN speak for my own though.

Actually you will not since the DME will retard timing massively if you run 9+PSI on stock CR. You will make more power and torque with lower CR and full ignition timing, that is unless you run race gas.
Stock M54B30 CR is not really good for more than 8.5PSI on pump fuel, anything above that is not recommended based on our experience.

But because its a centri blower wouldn't they be making much more torque any extra booost until about 5,000 RPM's where the boost would cross that threshold, and then kindof remain "flat" with any extra boost because the timing would be retarding after that?

well the kits are running now with 10.5 psi
on stock, or is it cause the timming is pulled back enough to do so.
The main Idea is not to sell the car but get more from it by re-doing the weak parts of the motor and using the SC system thats on there now.
By the way where was Ess with the Twin Screw and the build motor setup when most of us bought this Technik kits that nobody is around anymore. LOL
ESS GOOD JOB ON THAT KIT GUYS
