hello there my fellow fanatics! Quick question.. (since I'm on my iPhone) ASA sk1 kit, does the bypass valves need to be connected to a vacuum source?? (fpr ??) in other words.... Will a bypass valve work with out n e vacuum.. Because when I hooked up boost gauge to my bypass line I didn't get n e vacuum readings just boost readings. N e who I was wondering if the valves do need vacuum and if so where should I tap into... Fpr?? Thanks-justin

All bypass valve need a "boost input". The input must come from the boosted side of the intake. On the BMW there are several nipple available on the intake. Use one of them. Then use a T to split the line and share it with another device (Like a boost gaudge).
The bypass valve protects the engine against boost surge.

so you said use a t, I'm assuming using a tee is only if I use the fpr or the brake booster. If I do go straight from the intake manifold do I use a t to connect the bypass and boost gauge? One more time does a bypass valve need to have vacuum??
