3,600 lbs with a passenger 3900lbs (STAGE 1 HPF TURBO M3) VS. 500lbs (R6, R1, and zx10r motorcycles
r6's were a piece of cake
r1's were pretty close---depends on the biker -- if you watch carefully one of the r1's front wheel comes up slightly while accerating.
zx10R freakin was smoking his tires at 80mph
At least I know what I can go up against if I had a girl in the car so I don't embarrass myself. heheheh 600's & 750's I"m game :) 1,000cc's... wait until stage 3.
All in all the bikers were great sports for coming out to play. I was curious to see how I hold up against bikes and asked around.
Enjoy guys :)

WOW, you love to take your beast out. Love the fact that you have a good location to race. Good to see what the kit can do. Now if only the snow would melt in T,O.:bawling:

Sweet. The HPF kit is truly amazing. I never thought that would be the result. I have ridden a cbr600r and man it feels fast as ****.

r6's were a piece of cake
600's have no torque and are not fast from a roll. Anything below 10,000 rpm & they are a total dog. In a standing start drag race you'd be toast assuming the guy knew how to launch it.
r1's were pretty close---depends on the biker -- if you watch carefully one of the r1's front wheel comes up slightly while accerating.
I'm impressed with how well you did. As you probably noticed, the faster you go, the more advantage the car gains as bikes are severely limited by aerodynamic drag. Just so people know, R1's came out in '98, so it depends on what year you are racing. The latest model has a lot more hp & less weight than the early ones.

It surprises me how much faster the ZX10 was than the R1's. They should be pretty close. Maybe the ZX was modified?

No one makes 750's anymore except Suzuki & those things are pretty fast...too fast to lump in w/600's unless it's an old 750 (750 sportbikes appeared sometime in the 80's!).

This link contains almost too much info plus it includes non-sportbikes (still scary fast) and only goes thru '06 (virtually every sportbike has ben updated since then w/more hp & less weight). Still, it gives the unsuspecting an idea of what they are up against when racing bikes.
Obviously you NEVER race them from a standing start. Your best chance is to get them to start at the highest speed possible.

"X",
While your car is FAST...600's run low 10's @ 130+ mph. The list above does not even show the latest generation of 600's.
I have raced road bikes for 12+ years...Those guys were pretty clueless looking. Typical street squids. Why would you clutch it like the ZX-10 did? Obviously he would lose traction.
But still the same, your car is VERY FAST! I can see pulling from the 600's from a roll.
Great job!

Just remember that traction is a huge issue for high hp M3's and aerodynamic drag at high speeds is a huge issue for bikes... otherwise you're gonna be left wondering why you spent all that money just to get wasted by an 11k bike.

Yes an 11k bike that is about as practical as a boat in Kansas.

Hey, whatever you feel about bikes is fine, but I don't think "practical" is even remotely relevant to this thread.

I think bikes are cool.
You talking about the price of a bike was absolutely irrelevant also.

Then that makes us equal...we both like bikes & we both say irrelevant stuff. We even both have '02 M3's.
