Just kinda wondering why there is no TS kit for the M3? It seems like it would make crazy power .. course I know nothing of this sort of thing ... sorry if this has been asked before ...

ESS put alot of time into designing and testing one, but ultimately determined that it was too difficult and costly. I think it had something to do with the ITBs, but not sure...

If you look at the intake on M3 you will see there is really no way to bolt the TS down.

Kinda correct and kinda incorrect.
ESS did develop the TS for the M3 at a huge cost nearing 7 figures. However, due to their strict demand for superb drivability, it was dropped. The removal of the ITBs and the brief lag created by relocating the throttle was unacceptable to their standards. I am sure people would have "overlooked" the lag to have the great TS power (I remember it made something like 471rwhp and 390rwtq), but in the end they refused to put out anything less than an absolutely perfect product. So there ya go.
I even have a pic or two of it installed. It did really exist. :4ngie:

I think you meant to say they refused to put out anything less than an absolutely perfect product. :)

AJ showed me the prototype manifold and it looked awesome :yikes:but as Todd said drivability was a problem.

I actually drove that car and the engine carracter was destroyed due to all power at low rpms and then just wait for it to empty the gears, traction problem was the worst (or best :)) I´ve experieced, dangerous as h3ll :D They even made it work with smg though.
This is many years ago... the manifold was sick lookin pleas find those pics todd or maybe AJ could post them :)

I'd imagine it was a fun ride Jonas... but I can agree, you take a high-revving HP engine and transform it into a massive V8-feeling torque monster... not a bad thing, just not the M3 feel at all. Still be a crazy ride.
I will ask them about posting the pics.
