I know that with ebay headers, the sound gets messed up. How about with a turbo kit that includes a new heat resistant manifold in the exact same configuration as stock.

thanks

A T3/T4 turbo will muffle the sound, probably making it sound pretty amazing (assuming you get it working.) Here's an M3 with a turbo... sounds pretty good to me (yours won't sound like it because it's an M3 with a bigger turbo, but you get the idea.)

Turbo's actually quiet down your exhaust system a little.

SRT4 uses a turbo as a muffler.

when i had my civic turboed with no cat and a greddy exhaust, it was extremely quiet, but when i removed the turbo it was alot louder...
turbos=quiet exhaust, until your wastegate opens up (if your wastegate pipes are not piped into your exhaust...)

Since you're not going to have a turbo on your car, you won't have to worry about it. ;)

What about a TSE3 with a supercharger? Particularly Twin Screw from ESS. Would that cause excess noise? I really want to upgrade my exhaust to the TSE3 FULL... if not what exhaust should I go with? Maybe even an exhaust that would work well with headers?

A supercharger doesn't have the effect on exhaust like a turbo, considering the SC is on the intake side of the system.

I asked the seller the following this morning:
"Hi. From what I see you have all the hardware listed but what happens with the software? From what I know with a turbo installed, tuning will be necessary for proper operation. Who is going to tune my ECU once I've fitted the turbo?

Thanks
Paris"

His reply:

Hi Paris , this kit was meant to run on low boost ( 7-8 psi ) and not be too complicated where the novice tuner will be able to turbo their BMW .

With that said , included with the kit is an adjustable fuel pressure regulator where it would compensate for the added fuel needed .

But at the same time , this kit is also upgradeable up to 25 psi ! If thats the range you're looking to get , then you will have to start thinking about engine management , larger fuel injectors & engine internals .

Hope this answer your questions , please let me know if you have any other .

Thanks

Sounds like he has never tuned an E46 before...

Indeed. Novice tuners aren't too used to 3d fuel maps.
