Im considering switching to a 325 touring for hauling reasons. (125cc rotax go-kart to fit in the back)

However, the stock power isnt enough. I also want to track the 325iT...so I need more power. Ive been tracking my E36 M3 for a few years and at this point (PCA group4, BMWCCA group b, NASA HPDE 3) any street car on street tires with less than 250hp is in survival mode out there.

Ive been looking at the intercooled Active Autowerke kit that should be good for about 300 crank HP.

what is the on-track reliability of this unit? I know ill probably need to upgrade the radiator and add an oil cooler along with a LSD...but im more concerned about the Supercharger's on-track history. Otherwise, Ill just keep using my very reliable n/a M3.

Anyone have any experience to share with the AA or similar units? Im open to turbo as well, but more importantly i want about 300 reliable daily driven/track capable Hp in a bmw touring 3 series.

Ive tracked mine a few times with no problems. I will add that I'm also running the as w/a kit as well though, but I had the non-intercooled kit at that time. With the intercooler you should be fine at 8psi. Mpossible on here has numerous events on his aa ts unit, and I know there are a few e36 guys that track the aa units as well.

Hello,
That is a nice move, I have always loved the e46 tourings. On top of that they are so well rounded. As to your question we have had a ton of customers use our kits on the track without any issues. The kit is designed for everyday street use but I dont see the occasional tracking becoming an issue. The kit comes with an oil cooler, the radiator upgrade is always reccomended. Thank you.

This summer, I will track my supercharged 330ci. I will use it for club lapping (not racing). One of the things left on my to do list is to install a cylinder head temp gauge under the hood.

When I track any of my cars I always have an infrarayed temp device. I check the engine, the SC and brakes' temperature. I always keep a detailed log book about these reading. It very interesting to read these log during the winter.

The most important is to avoid overheating the engine and the supercharger. And maybe keep the engine's rpm below 5500rpm.

I did about 20 laps at the Ring last summer with the ESS TS on. No problems what so ever... And I was past 5500rpm pretty much most of the time...:eeps:
