I have a 99 323i and I'm really considering installing a supercharger. The AA tuning has a very good price tag but I still have some reservations so I would like to post some questions to those who have superchargers and have used them for quite some time.

1. I drive my car to work everyday around 60 Km's a day. Will my car be reliable even if I use it everyday?

2. Will my engine last another 100K Km's with a SC?

3. Is the AA tuning kit sold a complete kit? Can I install it myself with regular tools? Wont the check engine light go off?

4. Are there no overheating problems even in traffic?

5. What problems will I encounter?

note: I have an auto steptronic

Thanks and comments are appreciated

Yes, i drive mine everyday since the day i got it supercharged

2. Will my engine last another 100K Km's with a SC?

I supercharged around 60k, at 87k miles now.. if you keep up on the regular maintenance of your motor you should be good to go! oil changes every 3k miles!

3. Is the AA tuning kit sold a complete kit? Can I install it myself with regular tools? Wont the check engine light go off?
You have to send your ecu to AA for a reflash.. it takes 8-12hours for a good shop to install it properly, i wouldnt DIY unless you are experienced with these cars..

4. Are there no overheating problems even in traffic?
Nope

5. What problems will I encounter?
Typical maintenance issues with the car,

As long as you don't go overboard with trying to squeeze every last bit of power from the car you should be fine. :hi:

The AA supercharger is a very good deal. It is first quality and the ECU is programmed perfectly.

1. Yes it is a perfect 10/10 daily driver. I go to work with my car in the commute traffic and also I go to ski on regular basis 2-3 times a week.

2. It depends on how hard to push the pedals. No matter what your engine's life will be shorter. There are good chances that you will be able to drive it another 100k miles.

3. The AA kit is 10/10. Everything is included. The most difficult part is to have the ECU programmed since you will not be able to drive your BMW during a couple of days. I had the ECU reprogrammed while I was in Miami.

4. No overheating at all. Though the max temperature these days here is 10F ...

5. None, except maybe that the customer service is difficult to reach :)

Yeah, I was thinking about the ECU programing though we have a shop here that does that. Im half way around the world from Miami and I'll ask the shop first if they could program it for me. Thanks

That might save you a little bit of a hassle in the short run, but may cause a lot of headaches in the long run.

Why would you need to pay extra for the software tuning if AA provides you with it within couple days

1. I drive my car to work everyday around 60 Km's a day. Will my car be reliable even if I use it everyday?

Yes as long as the vehicle is properly maintained.

2. Will my engine last another 100K Km's with a SC?

Yes as long as the vehicle is properly maintained.

3. Is the AA tuning kit sold a complete kit? Can I install it myself with regular tools? Wont the check engine light go off?

Yes we provide a complete kit with tuning. I would recommend having a qualified tech do the install. However a few fanatics have installed the kit themselves.

4. Are there no overheating problems even in traffic?

None

5. What problems will I encounter?

Other than an install error. None. (or any that we are aware of)

note: I have an auto steptronic

Transmission is the weakest link. Transmission may not last.
