So i just ordered an auxilary input cable for my 2001 e46 coupe, and i figured it was going to work great. well i found a DIY on this site and i noticed that the guy had a slightly different business cd player than me. my cd player has a button that says "SCAN" on one side and "CD" on the other, his says "MODE" on one side and "CD on the other. my quetion is, will i be able to hook up and use the auxilary input cable that i want to install, or do i have to get the other headunit? If i cant install the AUX cable in my current headunit, how else can i hook up my mp3 player? im really hoping that the cable will work with my current unit...

this is the cable i bought: http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?cPath=67_69_145&products_id=293

That AUX kit is only for 2003+ 3-series models, your radio will not support AUX. We have a different kit here that will use your CD Changer wiring:
