View Full Version : The HPF Widebody will NOT be at Bimmerfest

The company building the widebody for our HPF stage 3 M3 has literally been working around the clock to get everything completed in time and they told me today they aren't going to be able to make it in time for this event. As you may or may not know, every body part on this car is being done in carbon fiber, and they're still designing the shapes for the molds (they are very intricate, so you'll understand why they're taking a long time when you see it). Several molds are finished and the carbon fiber parts have been created, but a few molds aren't done yet. Once those molds are completed, the remaining parts can be created and both cars have the parts installed and painted.

We will unfortunately have to present the final product using pictures and videos once it's completed. We will line up some shows for both cars following this event for those that want to come and see it at a later date.

I was really looking forward to presenting the HPF Stage 3 M3 in it's final form, but that will have to wait until after Bimmerfest.

Chris.

How am I going to explain that to the 7 guys that are flying over with me just to see this kit:cry: I guess you can make it up to us by giving us rides in a stage 3 car.:excited:

It's OK Chris, You shouldn't rush perfection.

Thats too bad, i am pretty sure you would have been in the top 2 for best of show with that widebody kit. Probably would have won 1st. Well at least u know it will be done right given the extra time...

Bimmer :slap:

O.k. I deserved that one. :lmao:

I dont know what I was thinking. :hmm:

Bimmer vs Beemer
Enthusiasts vs others
Definitions:
Bimmer - proper accepted slang for BMW cars. Most people don't know this.
Beamer/Beemer - proper accepted slang for BMW motorcycles. You will hear this term used incorrectly by many people.
Bummer - When you get a speeding ticket.
Bitter - Another German car. Very rare; hand built.

So just why is a BMW car called a 'bimmer' not a 'beemer' or 'beamer'?

The answer in part lies in knowing some BMW history and what came first.

All real BMW enthusiasts know that BMW got a big start on two wheels, what many call the real BMWs.

In those days, BMW motorcycles were quite active in racing, and one of their competitors at the track was often the BSA bikes.

Well as things would have it, a track slang developed, and the BMWs were usually referred to as 'beemers' and the BSAs were referred to as 'beesers'.

So, of course for any true enthusiast, there is no way that a BMW car could be called a 'beemer', so they were called 'bimmers'.

Unfortunately, in the US and Canada, and perhaps other countries, there was a time (kind of still is) where for various reasons, a BMW owner was considered an upwardly mobile person, and of course due to the fun in driving their BMWs most all of them had big grins on their faces.

Hence it is little surprise that the non enthusiast types out there incorrectly labeled BMW cars and their owners as 'beamers' or 'beemers'.

That sucks Chris, i was looking forward to seeing it!! Its a bummer but its worth the wait im sure. As of now my car is about 75% ready for Bimmerfest, it is going to be very tight to get it here on time!

Anyways, I saw a white widebody M3 at the Mfest/wheelpower meet. The job looked pretty nice, nicer then any widebody ive seen thats for sure. My friends and I started thinking it might be the other "completed" car you were talking about. Well just wait and see.

Well, i'm not sure if we would be allowed to enter our cars, but it doesn't really matter now. The M3 kit looks amazing. People will not expect what they're going to see. I'm not putting any more pressure on them because I'd rather have the car perfect and wait a month then have them wish they would have done things differently after the molds are produced.

I hope to unveil it in about a month or so. I can't post up pictures yet because we expect the release of this body kit to be fairly significant and we don't want any pre-release pictures to be leaked.

I hope your car can make it. I'd love to see what you guys have done to it since the last time I saw it. I'm still debating on whether to pick up mine and bring it (so far nothing has been done to it, all of the prep work is being done on another M3). We have several other amazing HPF M3's that will be in our booth, many are much nicer than mine. :)

We can definitely do the rides. Maybe I should pick up my M3. I figured Ardika would probably want to show off a bit. His car is currently much faster than mine. :)

I hope to see everyone there this year. This will be a great event.
