Alright,
My buddy does it in his car when he's at the track - it's a 10 second Talon/DSM. He told me to mix 1 gallon of Xylol/Xylene in with 3 gallons of pump gas. I did it in my S4 and ran it on the race gas map. It seemed to work quite well. I think it put me at about 100 octane.
He used Xylene in his car, but I couldn't find any of that when I went to Lowes. But I did find Xylol, which is a replacement for Xylene. They're both 118 octane, but i'm not sure if they're leaded - I don't think they are, since people use it for Paint Thinner...So that leads me to believe it's 118 UNLEADED...Which is great. Again, I ran it in my stage 3 S4 and had great results.
Have any of you guys done this? It's about $16 a gallon. I figured it would work fine if I ever needed it on weekend nights when the race gas shops are closed - I can just go to Lowes and pick up a gallon of it.
Let me know you all's thoughts. :)
