If the car is too lean you will be getting excellent gas mileage.
Who put the kit on? Have they done it before? Where did they put your maf and how is it wired in to the AA box and ecu?

The kit is very simple.
It is "difficult" to make a mistake during the installation.
(Unless it is your first installation ).

It must be something really simple missing.
Return to the garage that installed the kit.

Maybe a fuel injector issue, fuel pressure problem ?

The MAF needs to go inside the fender, so it's K&N filter, MAF and then piping. You cannot have it too close to the blower because the MAF will act really crazy. The MAF is wired to the AA controller and the other side goes to the ECU. Try calling Craig Wong at AA or email him at cwong@activeautowerke.com

Good luck. Let me know if I can help any more?

how is it wired in to the AA box and ecu?

if u have a reflashed ecu, you dont need to touch it. if u have a small box with a dial on it (we used to call this asatronic from their kits)

its really just a variable resistor spliced into your maf line iirc. if you had a shop install the kit they should have figured out the perfect setting with a dyno and a wideband afr gauge. then mark it and a little glue to make sure it doesnt move.

i hope you didnt pay this shop too much money. if i am reading correctly they took your working car, broke it with a sc kit, and now they dont know whats wrong? jeeeeeeez

p.s. this might be worth mentioning bc it happened to me and the car drove really shitty.

after installing the kit i didnt get the throttle body hose on tight enough (erm, its a tight fit to get in and tighten it) then the first time i applied high boost i blew the hose right off. the hose was lined up enough to "run" but any boost escaped out the sides and blew my AFR to sht, making the car run badly. and have a screwy afr gauge

i highly advise u get a wideband afr and a boost gauge, makes trouble shooting a lot easier (or gives you a good starting point)

the C38 kit does not use asatronic, it's a complete reflash, and it doesn't have a box that connects to the maf like the c30 kit does.

I'd guess that there is a leak, or an install problem...

David,

On a side note, how are you able to run so much boost with the kit? Any internal engine modifications?

How much does it cost to install boost guage and it's price?

What boost is fine for my step 330ci..Also what can control boost?

The pulley supplied should be the right one, boosting ~8lbs I believe, maybe less on the auto due to a lower redline.
