*I posted this on the main forum but remembered about the FI forum and thought ya'll might be more knowledgeable about this since my car is supercharged*

Hey guys
A couple of weeks ago I had some ebay headers installed on my car (2001 330ci w/ ESS TS1 supercharger). I bought the headers from another E46fanatic and he already had the spark plug defouler mod on them, however after 500 miles I got an SES light. I borrowed a peake tool from a friend and get the following codes:

19- Ignition Coil, Cyl #1
7C- Intake Air Temperature Sensor
EA- Automatic start input (I have no idea what this is, I read somewhere it could be cat inneficiency banks 4-6 which would make sense but I have no confirmation of this)

Taking into consideration I did not have an SES light before this... I don't want to start throwing new coils and IATS at it if the problem is the cats... I don't even know if a car with an ESS TS1 has the factory IATS there because the SC replaces the factory intake manifold... TIA for any help

Edit: I haven't had my mechanic check the nuts on the headers after the install (I've heard they have to be retightened after 500 miles) could a possible leak from them be causing these codes?

A 2001 330 should still have the IATS - there is a port for it on the ESS manifold. Headers shouldn't have any impact on this.

Are you sure you read the Peake codes correctly? Generally the first number indicates the lookup table. If I look up codes 7C and EA in table 19, I get:

7C - DISA control
EA - Catalyst efficiency below threshold, Cyl #4-6

The ESS TS removes the DISA so this would be an expected code depending on the version of software you have and does not indicate a true problem. With headers, you would expect that you might throw the catalyst efficiency code.

Thanks man! You're spot on, see what happens when you borrow a friend's tool and not fully read the manual? lol. I'm going to copy and paste your info in my other thread so that its there for future reference. Guess I'll have to figure out what was done wrong with the spark plug foulers :banghead:
