I know this topic has been hotly debated here and other forums. The mysterious black HPF car pulled by a VF Stage 2. Did it happen or not? :hmm: Which car is really faster? Well we intend to answer this question and put all speculation to rest.
This weekend the DFW Auto Club is hosting a dyno shootout at Classic BMW in Plano, TX. indiglom3 will be joining us this Saturday and putting his HPF M3 to the test on Classic BMW's Dyno Dynamics dynamometer vs. my VF Stage 2 M3, and several other modded BMW's, including current gen M3's, M5's and M6's. We will also be capturing video of indiglom3's HPF car vs my VF S2 M3, my stock E60 M5, and anyone else willing to put thier car to the test at our private test facility.
While other's talk, we deliver. Please stay tuned - results will likely be posted this Saturday evening.

Here's what we're going to do:
on 93 octane pump in both cars
1. Dyno Dynamics whp comparison
2. Multiple rolling starts in 2nd and 3rd gear
3. VBOX 60 - 130 times
all done on the same day, with the same 93 octane fuel, under identical conditions. This is the only way to get a true and accurate comparison. The only difference that may have any impact is the VF car has SMG and indiglom3's is a manual. As long as he can shift it should be fine. Some people really like using 1/4 mile times, I don't presonally think that is a good way to compare two cars b/c driver skill, reaction time, etc. will affect the outcome.

Have you heard of G-tech? A vbox is similar except it used GPS rather than an accelerometer to measure & record speed/time. 60-130mph is the new rage for comparing cars from across the country (or world)

I disagree with you on using the 1/4 mile as a measuring stick. You have a good point on ET's as this is more launch and driver dependent, reaction time has no bearing on your ET though. However traps show you were your car as at.

Jesse,
The GT is questionable at the moment. The owner's wife is out of town and he has two small kids. Either way he wants to see your car (and lives in my neighborhood) so we'll at least stop by and you all can check out his car as well.

Well our dyno event and HPF vs VF challenge is concluded and we had a killer time! indiglom3 (HPF car) and one of his buds drove up last night and they are two very cool cats. We were up last night until 3am and then up at 7am and going all day. We have a ton of video footage, runs and dynos to share. Stay tuned - I will post a new thread with all of the vids and info asap, hopefully later this evening.
To any in attendance today, I'm not going to tell you what to say or not say about the event, but I think it would be better to refrain from commenting on the results until I am able to post the new thread and vids, including all of the dyno runs, and all of the side by side runs at our test facility. Posting small amounts of info and not the whole story is going to simply confuse this.
Regards,
Scott
