Temperature Gauge

Today is a hot one here in San Diego (95+). I was driving around getting on the freeway, AC on pull blast and noticed by temperature (coolant) guage was at the 3/4 mark. The oil temperature was normal below 210. I assume this is dangerous and something is wrong but wanted to check with you guys. Let me know. Thanks

Did it go back to normal when you started driving on the freeway? Check your coolant level, it may be low, or it might just need to be bled.

It went down after awhile but the temperature gauge seems to go up and down quite easily. Check the coolant this morning and the level was fine.

Could it be a bad thermostat? Again the oil temp stayed below 210 the whole time.
