e46 m3.... some radio stations come in clear and others don't....(scratching unclear sound from the front speakers especially on the driver's side).......when i play a cd the sound is much clearer at a louder volume............are my speakers blown or is my radio gone bad if possible....??? help me out. i don't want to sink a load of cash to fix something that isn't broken...

Hmm, if your hearing a buzzing sound on cd's and stuff as well, then its quite possibly the factory midrange. A lot of people have had them blowout. However it sounds like it could also be your radio reception. Do you have factory navigation? The nav units had seperate radio tuners and there was a BMW recall for some of the radio tuners.

no nav. i heard a lot of people had to replace the mids and tweeters???? since it happens only at high volume i thought it might have something to do with it

Yeah, a lot of people have the midrange blow, and on the m3's the tweeter/mid housing is all in one. So it makes sense to go ahead and replace the crap factory tweeter while replacing the mid. The factory tweeter in my opinion is the worst piece in the whole system, it is just a cheap plastic polydome. I think BSW sells a piece that replaces both the mid/tweeter at once and its very easy to do. If your wanting to keep all the factory stuff thats the best way to fix this. The piece they sell is much higher quality than the factory stuff.
