where can we pick up the insert that goes in the middle vent area that holds a couple gauges and still vents around them. I saw them on someone's car here but I forgot who it was. I'm having my system installed this week and I need to know where I can direct them to that insert.

I believe it's custom.

well, that would be unfortunate. I've seen some kits for Audi's that you can buy online.. it's odd that it hasn't been made for BMW.

Yeah, that application you saw was from Juha's old M3 that he sold to Kerry Getz. It was a one-off custom job and it's so nice and practical that it sucks it's not available as a mass-produced item. If you're dead-set on it, I would do a search in the showroom for "Juha" and you should stumble across some threads and photoshoots he's had...then take the pics to a local shop and try to have them fab something up for ya. Best of luck :hi:

so far with the windows up it is fine it kools off the cabin after a few minutes.. i don't feel the a/c when the windows are down... have to adjust to that alittle... also i got limo tint all around on my windows so that helps alittle to... so far i am ok with not having the center vents... if i see it is not enough i will move the guages and put back the center vents.. but so far it is ok....

I can't remember who, but someone had a custom center vent gauge with two gagues that still allowed airflow around the sides of the gauges. If I can find the post, I'll link it. It looked pretty nice.

This guy has the best set up I've seen.

The one I remember was very similar. The area outside the gauges was covered in black cloth like on speaker grills. Same concept as the one above.

looks like we'll be putting the gauges on the column.

It's always something. I thought I'd be blowin around town with some more HP by now.. but, o well.

My ECU wasn't at the latest version so VF has to flash it to the latest before putting their software on it. This puts shipping off until tomorrow... (an extra $150 to get it to the latest bmw level)

Looks like I'll pick the car up on Monday. I should be able to get 200 miles on it for break in purposes within a few days I would think so by next Thursday I should have a little bit more get up and go.

My old 5.0 mustang had the two center vent gauges with vents on the outsides of the two 2 5/8's inch gauges. Honestly, the vents did little after clogging the hole with those big gauges. Here in Alabama, I was HOT!!
