Is there any way to fix this, after the CAI install the check engine light just stays on. the car is an 01 325i. The previous owner of the car says it was due to increased amount of air so OEM is back on. Thanks for any advice?

If it sits down in the bumper where air is getting in and hitting the MAF directly, it will trigger the CEL and possibly stall the car sometimes.

What is the solution for this, I'm just trying to visualize right now I have never even seen the CAI intake installed, just going off past owners word of mouth. Thanks for any advice, I just don't want stock air filter.

Block off direct air from hitting the MAF IF that is the problem. You can get ducts for your bumper, or just move the filter upwards a bit.

Hmm, is it possible to move the MAF IF out of the way, It seems counter productive to move the filter upwards out of air flow.
