this is in relation to my other thread, no one has answered the question so far. if the belt is 1cm too big and thus less tight by that amount on the asa tm-12 will there be just a higher chance of belt slip of will the hp drop?

Is this a trick question? You know the belt is 1cm too long and you want someone to tell you to change it.:hmm:

If it slips yes, but most likely it wont slip so you will not lose any power. You can also adjust the belt to fit tight.

The problem you are going to run into finding out whether your belt is slipping is this: the oversized belt is small enough to run the s'charger with some slip but too big to run it without any slip.
Dyno or gauge will tell you how much boost you are making and then you will know it is slipping. Butt dyno's are worthless. Note that large amounts of slip can be felt, yours wont.
How do I know? Happened to me. Change the belt. Tightening it only puts more stress on the tensioner. Get a gates belt.

ok, i will put it in a new belt, can you give me a gate's part number for the 135mm asa pulley doing 8psi in the technil kit? the belt I have right now is from the 6.5psi kit. Also, do I just take the fan off and change the belt on the manual car?

I don't have a 135 mm pulley. Went from a 150 mm to a 125 mm pulley.
If you are saying your belt is 0.5 inches too big then read the number on your belt (it is in inches (should be 9xxx because I believe your belt would be 90something inches long)). I think the first two numbers are the length of the belt in inches. Just subtract 0.5 inches. Napa and Carquest have gates belts.
Maybe someone can give you the actual length. Hope this helps.

our cars runs with a belt tensioner. even a belt that is 25mm longer will have no problem fitting in and stay tight. a belt is too long if you can see the belt flipping around and jumping off any of the pulleys

Unfortunately, I was getting belt slip even with the tensioner so I just had a new tensioner installed. Note that the tensioner does not account for the extra drag of the supercharger so I don't know how long it will last at 8 or 10 psi. Car is down for a clutch and rear spring perches so will update.

There would be no slip at all, but you will add few extra grams to your car lol
