hey..found this website where this guy took an eaton roots blower and put it onto hi 325...

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=538535

how possible is this say on a 320I.iam really not lis to pay R60 000 for a conversion when this one has been done on 325I.and no i dont wann get a 330i.my car still got 50 000 km;s on da clock

i realise that a lot of custom machining will have to be done.my question is if i have a custom made crank pulley made up could this be a problem because the harmonic balancer is in the oem crank pulley.or could i just do a similiar setup on the mercs that come out with factory superchargers?ie install the charger inline with the other pulleys and get a longer belt to fit?the supercharger that i can get for 1500 is an eaton m45...

help please....mat Q has made me jealous now me is wanting some boost

Just wait for a used kit to go on sale you can get them for pretty cheap now and then you dont have to worry about tune or any additional parts.

R60000 = $7800 right?

Getting "an eaton supercharger", then custom intake, custom pullies, custom hoses, custom software, custom brackets, custom belts, custom intercooler would cost more than a ready made solution for your car.

And if you ever make it to fabricate all these and above all, tune the system without risking melting your engine, you will not have any warranty on anything.

when it comes to certain things, you shouldn't do them on a budget... supercharging definitely falls in that category

A used Active kit would be going for around 3000 used; even cheaper than going custom :thumbup:

If you really plan to supercharger you vehicle..

the only sound way is getting this
http://www.esstuning.com/default.asp?c=shop&cat=93&subcat=101&subcat2=179&id=

for alot of moneys.. to achieve this..

..i dont think there are any AA 320i vehicles on the road, and it maybe difficult to secure an older ASA blower from ESS..

there are still some asa kits avail for low prices, but since youre a 320i, it may take more then one company to get the hardware aligned with your software.

the first people i would inquire would be def ESS.
