Just as the thread title says. I have looked around the forums for any info but come up empty. Also, anyone think the kit will come down sub 10k any time in the near future?

On $20000 turbo kits? :hmm: That'd be a helluva group.

kits are 15k. There were GBs on ASA kits when they were 7k. This would just have 1/2 as many people for the same price =)

group buys never drop the price by $5k or more...most discounts are around 10-20% off at most so I don't think you're going to see any group buys on the HPF kits in the $10k range (let alone below $10k). You're best bet is to just look for a used kit (doubt you'll find one) or go with another brand (supercharge it for less maybe). You have to pay to play and HPF kits are pretty sick from what I've read...(they are also one of the few if not the only turbo kit producing companies - other places will custom build one for you, but not mass market it so HPF doesn't really have much competition for them to use such marketing techniques).

Well if you increase production of the kits, you can bring down the cost of parts and also be able to sell more of these units which in the end will be a bigger marketing scale of it with an increase of sales as well.

People like me would sell my 330ci to pick up a m3 so that I could buy the kit.

true, but that only works if the demand is there and the company is fairly confident that they will be able to sell off their increased production items off within a certain time frame; otherwise, they will just be spending more money to increase stock items that may never be sold. nowadays with the gas prices increasing on a weekly/monthly basis people are less inclined to buy a m3 then spend more money on turbo charging it. When I mentioned earlier that they mass produce, I meant more in terms of they the materials, machines, and man power to actually make these kits without having to custom fabricate it to specific people's specifications. It doesn't necessarily mean they go out and produce these turbo kits until they are ordered (at least I don't believe they do). Even if the turbo kits were to sell for around $9k per kit, this is still a high dollar item and most people will still debate whether or not to buy the kit or continue to wait to see if the kit comes down even more in price.

don't get me wrong, i would love to see these kits go on sale but I just don't see it happening because this is a luxury item that doesn't need to be offered at a discount for people to continue purchasing from them.

yeah very true, I get yeah

When is this turbo kit coming out, feels like forever

For me what makes the HPF kit so desirable is that you can turn this already amazing machine into a monster that has different HP options to fit each setting you may come across. Second is customer service to back up your purchase and future concerns. With that you have bang for your buck which to me makes a turbo kit more desirable.

pretty soon it seems like the m3's are gonna cost less than the turbo itself....
