This issue is getting really anoying. Whenever I got for a drive i hear a snapping noise coming mainly from the left front side of the car and sometimes the same spot on the right side.
The only way it makes this noise is if the road is uneven and one front wheel is going up while the other one is going down or stay stationary. It never happens when I got over a speed but straight on.
This led me to believe it was the sway bar links. So, I took it to a bmw tech and he said there was nothing wrong with the swaybar links and they are "tight." The problem is still present today and is very noticable.
It happens when...
- driving over uneven roads causing the front wheels to move up and down at different times
- Hitting an incline at a diagonal (Again one side of the suspension being compressed while the other is still on flat ground).
And it doesn't happen when...
- Hitting a speed bump or any change in the road head on (ie. both sides of the suspension go up in the same fashion) or driving on fairly flat roads.
That's the best I can describe it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
