conforti intake

so i finally installed the intake and about a month later, my SES light came on. checked the codes, engine is running lean in both banks because of it, but the car doesnt drive any different. how do i fix this? i've rotated it, pulled it in and out, and also my carbon fiber inlet tube that the air filter is connected to has a bend on it, and it doesnt say if i should point it up or down... i called the number, noone ever picks up, left messages, nothing. its such a tight fit to where my filter is resting on the shock tower, the wires for the headlights, everything. anyone else with a 330i 2004 with the conforti have any issues, or know how to install this properly or fix it?

I have an '04 330i with the JC intake and the same thing happened. I first checked all intake system connections to make sure I didn't install something wrong. I bought some mass airflow sensor cleaner, removed the ITG air filter, sprayed down the mass airflow sensor element(doesn't take much), installed the ITG air filter, started car(it took a couple tries as the cleaner "flooded" the engine), reved up the engine a couple times, cleared fault code(s), and road test vehicle. Fault has not come back.

How the hell is air suppose to get through that?

ahaha yea mine looks exactly the same, ok so u have it pointed down. thanks man. yeah who knows how air gets through there but it does. does yours kind of whistle when u blip the throttle? mine does, kind of like a woosh, woosh. how did you clear your fault code btw. A friend of mine is a tech for the local bmw shop here and he told me all they do is disconnect the battery and touch the - and + together to reset it.

when i had those codes they went away on there own and my conforti makes a wistle and woosh woosh sound to haha
