HPF Stage 4 Information
We're wrapping up our stage 4 turbo M3 development. Now we're on to the tuning phase. We just finished doing the subframe reinforcement on our HPF M3, and upgraded it to the stage 3/4 fuel system. We also added the HPF traction control and speed based boost control to it. It is now running the Asuka widebody (4 inches wider on each side) and rolling on Hoosier R6's with 345's in the rear and 295's in the front. We also swapped out our stage 2 clutch for an even stronger HPF Stage 3 clutch to handle the added 100rwhp.
It's running extremely wide Enkreuz wheels (19x10 in the front and 19x13 in the rear), Massive brembo 6 piston brakes and KW Suspension Variant 3 coil-overs.
This car is going to be brutally fast with the increased traction and the traction control system and will be able to apply that power to the ground very quickly. Our Veyron killer is nearing completion. :) I have a friend that is hopefully buying a new Veyron, so we will get some good races on video between the two cars.
We will have dyno results very shortly (we're going to target 900rwhp - 1100bhp)
Here's a video of a walkaround on the car.

have you considered cf/cleared side moldings or LEDs? think it would make a nice contrast and flow with the current CF scheme nicely.. really compliments the curved bootlid well (upgraded lights).
can't wait to see the in-car video hearing the car at WOT! :yikes:

Ahhhh, the Veyron. Most super of the super cars IMO. To hang with a 1.4 million dollar car is a true accomplishment.

My friend is supposedly paying 3.2 million for his. Maybe the price has gone up a bit.

I just read somewhere that they have special edition ones that are more expensive. Must be what he's getting.

It could also be that is when they were being sold production. Now that they are in people's hands they have that inherited value that comes with owning cars that nobody else has because they are already owned. Then consider who owns them.
Still ridiculous.
You guys need to get this M3 to the Nuremberg Ring. Might be a bit of a hctiB in the twisties but in the straights omg....
Last thing. Could I get a set up where I have 2 gas tanks..one for regular high octane and a Race fuel cell for the 110 gas...so that means...2 seperate fuel pumps controlled via a switch?
Just a thought...

Will be interesting to see how the subframe reinforcement goes. You are doing the same as what I did when me rear end first started cracking. All it did reinforcing like that was rip out the whole centre section of the boot floor all in one piece. And I did that with less than 500rwhp and standard street tyres.
Good Luck:thumbsup:

Having run Hoosiers for years on track, do you really think that is gonna be your best choice for street driving? They really arent too sticky until they come up to temp, getting them up to temp on the street may not be an easy task. I imagine you will have to play with pressures big time. interested in hearing how your tire choice works out...

I decided not to send out any more DVD's until we make a new one, and we've been very very busy.
As far as our stage 4. We started tuning on it yesterday.
This will be a slightly different tune than what people may expect. We are only able to target 2 boost levels. This results in the following results ( I noted the difference in red)
Stage 3
Pump = 15psi = 600rwhp
Pump + Meth = 23psi = 760rwhp
Race = 23psi = 775rwhp
Race + Meth = 23psi = 800rwhp
Stage 4
Pump = 15psi = 600rwhp
Pump + Meth = 15psi = 640rwhp
Race = 28psi = 875rwhp
Race + meth = 28psi = 900rwhp
The reason we can't make more on pump + meth with stage 4 is because we would have to run it at 28psi for our setup and there's no way to prevent pre-ignition at that boost level when pump is used.
We made 640rwhp yesterday on pump+meth at 15psi. Which is amazing for a low compression 3.2L engine at such low boost. We currently have a vibration issue with the new wheel spacers we're running and need to address that before we run high boost.
I'll keep you posted.

RTAB's RTAB's RTAB's. The way this car launches on the dyno is literally pulling the tire all the way to the front of the wheel well, then back to the rear and hitting on both the front and the rear. We did a test and ran Volk wheels with 285 drag radials and the wheel hop was gone however several people had to sit in the trunk to keep the tires from spinning.
We're going to install some RTAB's on this car to see if this eliminates the wheel hop with the sticky Hoosiers. I always abided by the phrase, "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Now I can say that RTAB's are clearly necessary in high power cars with good traction.
We made 820rwhp on race fuel when we started having the wheel hop on the dyno. The stage 3 clutch is holding but the pedal effort is significant. So we're also going to test out OS Giken's new triple disk clutch. I'll post up pictures of that shortly.
I'll keep you posted.
Chris.

Chris, Where did you get those 285 drag radial? David is checking on those HRE wheel that can fit 305 on 19 without body works, do you have any pix and what is the rim size. I would need it asap along with the TC System quick because rumor have spread and fans and haters along the Gulf Coast are wanting race the one and only Gulf Coast HPF Stage 3 M3. I got to preserve HPF M3 King of the Road signiture along the Gulf Coast. :str8pimpi

I inquired about this exact kind of setup. Although nothing is impossible, I was quickly steered away from this idea. I guess a BMW fuel system is a bit more complicated than an old Ford pickup. Of course, after I went to stg 2, I found that 580 rwhp was plenty for daily driving. The only time I run race fuel now is when I go to the drags, or I set up a serious street race.

We definitely need to get you some good rubber and wheels. The shorter the wheel the better. I would run 17x10's and some drag radials in the rear. Definitely work with David on those. :)
I've got some great news.
The OS Giken triple disk clutch has a very smooth engagement and the pedal effort is just slightly stiffer than stock. It is nothing like the triple disk clutches I've used in the past. It's just awesome. Pretty soon we'll put it to the test for Horsepower.
I'll do a complete writeup on the clutch shortly. We also have another one coming in 1-2 weeks if anyone wants it.
Chris.
