will a crank out of a 95 s50 m3 work in a m52tu if so any mods to be done or will it bolt right up

This works very well!
in Germany there are some this have made.

Variation 1 on 3.0 l (base: M50 grey iron block):
Crankshaft of the M3 3.0 US implementation. This has towards of the "normal" M3 crankshaft the advantage that the connecting rod plugs measure 45 mm (otherwise, 50 mm) and one is not bound therefore to the substantially more expensive M3 connecting rods. Moreover, KW of US-M3 is substantially more favorable.
Connecting rod 135 mm or US-M3 3.0/3.2
piston 86 mm of US-M3 3.0
The block must be drilled out on 86 mm.
ZK poetry is natural to use from US-M3 3.0/3.2 then (11 12 1 405 106) compressions corresponds to the M3 3.0 USA

You would be going from a forged crank to a cast crank. Get the S52B32 crank, and you'll be at 3.0L
