View Full Version : HPF Air Duct - Carbon Fiber, Black Plastic or Aluminum?

I wanted to gauge interest on our new air duct for HPF turbo kit customers. Currently, the factory upper air duct directs incoming air to the driver's side where there is no air intake. This new air duct will get colder air to the turbo. We can make it out of any material we want, and I want to make sure we choose the option that most will want.

Vote in the poll and let me know what option you would most likely choose.

Here's what it will look like.

I voted aluminum, i love the look of it, however there would need a few more things in the engine to be aluminum to make that work

is it me or if c/f just getting way too played out, no offense to anyone but c'mon

It's not that cf parts are played out, it's just that they are making SOOO MANY parts in cf that it is no longer little touches here and there. Next thing we know, people will be putting on cf fenders and leaving them unpainted along with carbon fiber dashes, etc... bmwrice here we come

Can I vote aluminum with the option of either polished or wrinkle finish? That way people with polished or unpolished manifolds can choose a matching duct.

you can only vote once so i voted for Carbon fiber but was also debating on the wrinkle finish. either way, sign me up...lol

eh it's just like lacoste... they weren't played out when a lot of people wore their shirts but rather when people started wearing their hats, shoes, socks, etc...

in other words, it's not because of cf vorsteiner hoods but rather because now they offer cf everything... it's the proliferation of cf that has made it played out.

Where can i find more pics of that silver car

I voted black plastic. I think carbon fiber would be cool but it will be a lot more expensive - unless this is a free upgrade for current HPF owners? :D

hey chris,

I voted carbon fiber, but you should make another one in aluminum and have two options for the finish, like your intake maniflod.

Looks gorgeous  =new desktop background

I guess it doesn't effect the sound to much....I think anything you guys settle on will be nuts...

Could you offer any of the above as options?

:hi:

PS: Guys keep in mind you could paint the carbon intake black and leave HPF FREAKS visible in the carbon fiber....that's what I would do probably. Especially if I do the trunk lid lip and hood the way I want.

The kit looks so clean as is? Why add some extra bling? I say OEM black look.

CF is nicer looking...And honestly if you buy an expensive kit for your car you do not want to do cheap mods on top of that because it will look out of place

I say aluminum powder coated black, or flat black plastic
