Anyone had a custom manifold made up ? Any idea of costs involved ??

Why would you want a custom manifold?

Turbo in the future?

Nothing as adventurous as that guys, I want to run more boost but re-stricted by the stock intake manifold at the minute.

Ohhhhhhhh...intake manifold. Why didn't you say so?

I got all excited thinking that you were asking about the exhaust manifold. :4ngie:

intake huh? I'm a little confused as to why you need a different manifold to run more boost unless your pushing very big numbers. Care to enlighten?
I guess you have already done some work on the bottom-end. Just how much boost are we talking about here?

Turboaddiction cool car man, its like an e36-e30!

Wait.. you're boosted with the stock S54 intake manifold? Does it not swell or expand under pressure?

Thanks bud!

Thanks...that was the idea. I love the e30 m3 and the fact BMW set it apart with a widebody. I always wished they did that with the e36 m3.
real nice!

Me too!

So wait, let me get this straight, the OP is boosted on the stock manni :yikes:.

Thats right the VT kit uses stock manifold at 5psi. What I need is to get a manifold made up that will double as a chargecooler with a water core, in the same fashion as VF. My VT2 blower is capable of pushing much more but am restricted by the intake manifold and obviously lack of cooling.

I would imagine ESS has that covered. You can buy their intake manifold, no?

Not sure if the HPF intake manifold (http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/partdetails/HorsepowerFreaks/Engine/Intake_Manifolds/Cast_Aluminium/14107) will work for you, but if so it might be a nice option.

HPF's manifold won't work for him since he wants water cooled. You might try VF though...

for m54s, Alpina makes one, but their are very difficult to find.

HPF sells their intake manifold for $1000 or something close... I know its weird why would they sell their intake manifold alone but nothing else from the turbo kit...?

Ahh, missed that. VF's kit is water cooled, but do they cool through the M3 manifold? the second question is whether they would sell it separately.

Thanks guys, the VF would be perfect (as would RMS) but VF don`t want to sell it seperately (I can fully understand why, after all they`ve spent $$$$$`s in designing and testing).

Esentially everything I need to add a chargecooler can be bought here http://www.frozenboost.com/product_info.php?cPath=213&products_id=810&osCsid=21efc4d70940ad4e235b667aeef0d2fc I just need to swap out their heat exchanger for one that`ll double as my intake manifold. Then its a case of building internals, bigger injectors, smaller pulley and a custom tune.

ESS have posted dynos of this V2 blower running 575 RWHP, so I rekon if I aim for around 500-550 RWHP it should be pretty reliable. The shop that did my original install are just finishing a near 700 crank hp custom set up but they`ve switched to a T-trim.

ess has a manifold:

ess has a manifold:

This would be by far the easiest solution but they have none left and aren`t getting anymore made up any time soon.
