View Full Version : Rematch 11.1 @ 135mph z06 vs HPF stage 2

Hello guys. The white Z06 is ready for a rematch as he has upgraded some go fast goodies. Wow.. he is trapping 135mph in the quartermile so its definetly putting down some power. I've raced a lot of z06's and this one will be my last. They just don't do it for me anymore, but he was my 1st z06 and I do owe him a rematch. Nothing against them as they are bad ass machines...I just want some exotics! I had a twin turbo GTO lined up, but he got demolished by the silver 427ci z06 that I beat. Also had a turbo NSX lined up which was demolished by "the white 700hp Supercharged Camaro", Supercharged Viper may be coming out Friday so that should be an interesting one too. Weather isn't that cold this week which means I think I will be able to get traction in 3rd, which I wasn't the last time and had to brake boost in 4th. I think this will be a very close one only if i'm able to hook... no room for any tire slippage.

Kindly advise him to hold off on that full cage idea the next time you two meet; unless he no longer drives that car on the streets.
God forbid if he gets into an accident, the cage will crack his head open like a watermelon if he***8217;s not wearing a helmet, and I don***8217;t know anyone who wears a driving helmet on the street.
most tracks only requires a helmet if the car travels down the 1/4 mile fast enough, not a cage...

most if not all require a cage under 11.00. All the tracks i have been to require helmets under 14.0

I had to wear a helmet stock in my lightning. Found that quite funny.

I would get into a car with a full cage only if its also equipped with 6 point seat belt and a driving helmet.
Race track is a control environment, and helps are usually only seconds away in case of a crash. On the street, a full cage can be a death trap.

sorry for the OT. Good luck with the race!

For sure hit me up when you are in my neck of the woods. We can do a stage 2 vs stage 2 ( I know mine is faster ... j/k). As for the race with the SC'd, cam'd, meth Z06, I lost :( I guess my rear tires are shot cause I usually can hook in 3rd, but now it just spins. I tried break boosting in 4th like I did the other z06 but can't reel him in. Waiting for my bud to upload the vid and time to get rid of my 265's and go for some 305's.

I would not be too confident. Some of those z's have run 9 sec 1/4's. Even a Stage 3.5 HPF M3 can't break into the 10's. Just be happy that you have a great, fast car. There is always someone faster. My .02

Based on Rob with his stage 2 getting 11.00 I believe a stage 3 will definitely get into the 10s especially with the new traction/boost control. I also think once stage 4 and widebody, high 9s is possible.

We aren't talking about the 1/4 here, he used it as an example. There are lots of variables, but in this instance what truly counts is the trap speed. He mentioned that the z06 traps 135, stage 2 HPF kits have already trapped 137, that is where the comparison needs to be done. If he was able to hook, I am sure the race would have been a drivers race.

Also, stage 2 alone should be able to get into the 10's no problem with that kind of trap speed, traction is the culprit right now.

i didnt know there was a stage 3.5?:hmm: stage 2 can break into 10s with TRACTION. M3s arent designed to fit 345 slicks on the rear Z06 can fit fatty tires no problem...with the Ms you gotta do major body work like a widebody

I think the point here is that traction is the issue. Perhaps with the new boost based traction control the Stage 3 and up kits would break into the 10 second range !

I wonder what would an E46 330xi do with an HPF Turbo kit :excited:

I see DSMs that cost much less than than the HPF Turbo kit break 10 seconds.

Loay

Stage 2 should be able to get into the high 10's with those trap speeds. Maybe next summer someone will try some sticker tires, DRs or something similar so they can hook better out the hole.

You are right about the DSMs I do miss my DSM days. Went from DSMs to Supra to Evo and now to BMW...... I am a turbo addict for sure.

I ll catch u up sometimes!!! I really wanna see ur ride again :thumbsup:

I like all cars. Saw an eclipse run a 10.1 @ 140. That was wild.

By the way, every car with over 500rwhp has traction issues. Some even with DR's. Note that the z06 power curve is much better than a peaky turbo M3 curve (and it's lighter, lower and probably more aerodynamic)

What are you using on the Camaro, turbo?

3500k rpm TQ is nice but you have to consider your redline which seems to be hella low.
