Which scope for bushmaster Varminter (AR-15)?

Hey Guys,

I got my hands on a bushmaster Varminter for a ridiculous good price in mint condition - only shot 50 times! I love how it feels and i cant wait to do a couple things to it (granted i dont know what yet, since im new to the AR scene - not rifles though!)... but the first thing i need is a scope, so can any of you recommend me a good scope for an AR for lets say, out to 300-400yrds:4ngie:

i have a .308 i would use for anything 400+ yrds when i shoot, but i would like to be able to use this 5.56/.223 out to at least 300/400yrds!

let me know please!

also, let me know if there is anything else alot of people do to these guns? Ive seen everything from new stocks to rails, etc... i have the OEM (normal looking) stock right now, but i was thinking of changing that out eventually... need a scope first though since it has no sights currently :rolleyes:

Having a heavy barrel varmint/target rifle usually necessitates a few important factors for scope selection.
The key things to look for are:
-Fine crosshairs
-Higher magnification
-Adjustable objective lense to eliminate parallax
-High quality optics/glass to increase visibility and reduce eye strain
-Large objective lens to collect more light. High magnification reduces ambient visible light in the scope.
