Did it work?

We'll see!

Son of a bityy itch it worked, but I would like to see the whole pic in the thread, not have to click on it to open another window.
This, however, may be the way e46fanatics requires.
Lets investigate further, shall we?

Haven't found anything to see if its different for the pics above, but you gotta search first!

No need at this time, gotta check out whether my sig is good to go!

It aint a sig, its the avatar.
And SOB, you gotta pay to have one.
Well...I guess its a good thing to support the forum.
Will have to do this soon.

Yes, you can have pics show in-full on within the thread, but gotta figure that out.
For another day, now I need to ask that questions to see if someone might have experience with my MTX 2300xw Amp.

Whats the question? I have that amp (in black)

The controls do not have any markings; therefore, I am at a loss as to their relationship.
I dont have the manual, and have searched extensively online to find ANYTHING - to no avail.
It is hooked up to a Elcipse 88120.4 12" sub in bridged mode.

Questions:
1. do the gain controls need to be set identical in bridged mode? Independantly? one over the other?

2. how in general are the steps on the variable crossover - 50 - 200. Is it evenly divided throughout its range? Is mid way around 120? need some type of frame of reference.

3. as a side, do you like the amp, and any thing you might want to share with you experience with it.

Thanks for your help, I almost missed this since I posted in the audio section, and just happened to see if anyone had taken a look at my test post.

Click on the thumbnail image and then click for properties to get the link to the "expanded" view.

Or just host the pics on imageshack...

Maybe this worked?

edit - Nope.

edit - I clicked on the insert image and attached a URL from Flickr. Shows as that url in my reply but when I post it is not there.
Issue with Flickr?, or maybe I'm still having trouble figuring this out.

1. I would set them the same. Gains are NOT volume controls (whole other discussion). Set them half way and see whats up.

2. I would assume that they are evenly spaced, although you should set the crossover based on sound not numbers.

3. It is a great amp for the money (especially used) Rockford engineers jumped ship back in the day and started this line. It is powerful. My JL Amps are better, but I am running them right now in my Trailblazer. One runs a set of Polk SR6500s and a the other runs a JL 12w6v2.

I will look for the manual.

PS - Should be the same amp as the 3002. Tweeter/Sound Advice sold the 2300, Circuit sold the 3002.

I will set the gains with my dmm. I was more concerned about having both set according to mtx designs. As either gain appeared to affect performance.

I agree that sound should dictate re crossover but there's something about 'knowing' where I am on settings.

Thank you for your help.

Amps have good ratings and I've always respected rf's amps. At least old school stuff.

Interstingly mtx website claims to have the PDF of the 3002 but when selected it just takes you back to same page of lists.

Lets give this another try.
Photos uploaded to Flickr were not working to paste into a post.

Now, lets try photobucket to see if there is any difference.

edit - Man, I am just not getting it.
It cant be this hard.
I must be overlooking something real simple, but am having trouble seeing it.
Any suggestions (with details for procedure)

I have created a photobucket AND Flickr account, uploaded photos.
Go to create post, clikc on Thmbnail image, upload from URL, copy/paste url into window, and submit reply.
What am I missing here?

MTX Thunder 2300xw with Eclipse 88120.4 12" sub.

edit - Hot dam, I figured it out.
I did not realize that photos within photobucket etc. had code specific to web applications for inserting.
Once I discovered that then all was easy.

A friend of mine that is a part of several forums, non-mobile related, warned me against embedding too many photos, as they tend to get duplicated too many times as people respond.

Is this an issue with you guys?
Do people prefer the thumbnails or the "full-size" embedded photos?

I prefer to see the whole thing and it does not bother me too see the photos again.

In fact, I would like to see more installation photos as this sometimes speaks louder than words.
