I've been out of the loop for a while. So what is the best ET/trap out of a HPF M3 so far? They seem pretty fast in the vids I''ve seen.

Edit: I also remember there being a reward for any HPF M3 to crack tens. Anyone do it yet?

Thanks, didn't Rob run that a while ago in his stage 2 on race and meth? The trap is there, guess there is no traction. But now they offer traction control

they have offered the traction control for a while on the stage 3/4 cars. My car is the first non stage 3/4 car to get it and I payed extra for it. I am the guinea pig for this and JP has been in my car for a while getting it setup for a stage 2.5 kit. They have said they MAY choose to release it for the other stages, but it takes quite a bit of time to get it all dialed in correctly (aka lots of man hours and time in the car). I will post up my assessment of it when I get it back and spend time driving it around.

If you don't mind, can you tell us how much total (Out the door) you paid? You don't have to tell if you don't feel comfy, I was just curious

nope, don't mind. If you wanted to get all the work I got done, it would run you @ $39k (I did EVERYTHING possible to the car that HPF offers, except for getting a stage 3/4). My car has been with HPF for almost 2 months due to the vast amount of work that they did to the car. Go to their website and buy ALL of the pieces on the turbo M3 page and you will see how fast it adds up. Totally worth it in my honest opinion. The car is gonna be fast and still a bit of a sleeper. :yikes:

I had good traction, just not great traction. My 60' times average 1.9 to 2 seconds. If I can stop the small amount of spin off the line, hit a 1.7 60', I will be in the 10's.

What kind of tire were you on? MT ET Street Radials are pretty good

I think the 1K deal was only for stage 1/2s and definitely not 3s. Not sure if Chris clarified if 2.5s can run it (as this stage wasnt even available when he offered it).

I seem to remember seeing 10.5 being the number for stage 2.5's -- but not certain.

I know there is boost control now available for stage 3 and 4 but I also saw a video from Chris demonstrating SMGII launch control with their kit.

I wonder if anyone has tried this on the track?

Evil Twin Rob are you SMG or Manual?

Loay

I ran Nitto dr's, but I was looking into getting some Micky's this year.

I have a manual. I love to drive, and felt SMG would take away some of that experience. I would like to have boost control for the street, but I am skeptical of if it would help more than hinder at the strip. I guess this would depend greatly on track conditions, but since I usually just get a little spin off the line, I would want full power for the rest of the pass. The stage 2.5 would probably see much more benefit than stage 2, though.

Wow you are only getting a little wheel spin ? Awesome. I wonder if you should consider smaller rear wheels? can you run 18x9.5 or 10s with 285s?

I run 17's at the track.

Correction -- The first stage 2.5 to run 10.75 wins:

Hey ETR, I see you live in Spokane, What race track did you go 11.00 at? If it was at Spokane that is a altitude race track and that ET should get a correction factor that would put you around 10:70"s. If you want to go the the fastest drag strip in North America Head across the border to Mission raceway. The starting line has serious teeth and you would pick up a tenth or better in you sixty foot time and you will also run a couple of MPH more too.

You all saw this in writing, I now have 667 whp with the new race/meth tune and 10.75 should be easy, after installing 17's and drag radials. Heading to the track soon, Chris should go ahead and mail the check. :)

I have two checks ready.... One for a stage 1 or 2 car, and one for a stage 2.5 or 3 car. :)

If you get a chance, take the vbox too -- I'd be interested to see how close it is to the timeslip...

Ok... so far my 2.5 has the fastest 60 - 130 time for a E46 M3 @ 6.43. The stage 3+ cars make so much power they will probably have to use the speed based boost control to beat me. I don't know if gasser has a vbox but I'd love to see his 60 - 130 times on his 2.5 with sbbc. :)

ill have the speed based boost control on my car ill have to try out the 60-130 time for my stage 3...i think traction is going to be an issue though.

I think you need a set of spare 17's with some seriosu rubber before you do any further modding :read:

I don't have a vbox, but I don't think it will be any faster from 60-130. You've said that you spin a bit up to 80mph and I won't have full boost until I shift into 4th gear (96mph). So, if you add it up, you are still gonna be faster because you will have full power and won't spin with sticky tires.
