All I can say now is total sleeper!!! My car sounds quieter than a stock M3. Its kinda hard for me to drive it now cause I cant hear the exhaust tone when I am starting off from first gear :banghead:
I posted it for sale here if anyone is interested.

Do you notice any loss in power ?

It seems slower but i think its because the car doesnt sound like its going but when you look down at the speedo it is. HPF said the stock exhaust flows good for their turbo kit and I shouldnt lose any power.

Yeah... its a total sleeper. I went from Stock, to 4inch, to Agency power, back to stock exhaust. LOL... I miss the turbo wine sound, but its really nice to have it quieter than stock form. Just crusing, ya know, with all the ladies in the car j/k and at the same time having power if you need it. I wonder how my car is going to sound with stage 2.5 with stock exhaust. I'm assuming more turbo whhhoooooosh and more blow off because of the higher psi

was there a specific reason why you went back to stock? just curious...

I drive the hpf m3 a lot. I've packed on about over 30k miles on the kit prior to upgrading to stage 2.5. Maybe I'm getting old, I just like it quiet.

Man you went the opposite direction of me :) I have been running straight pipes for about 500 miles now and its nuts :) Sounds awesome, but it can be a bit much at times so i am hanging onto my SS Race to switch back and forth...

Loud exhaust is awesome in the summer time and when you want to have fun or just want it to be loud, but all the other time (IMO most of the time) you'll love a stock-like exhaust. And, you had to lose some power going back to the stock exhaust. I just got rid of my loud exhaust on my e36 turbo m3.

Agreed.. ran the HPF titanium exhaust with AA kit and the sound was AWESOME... for about 3 days.. then it just got tiring... couldn't escape from the hectic droning noise!!!

I have Agency Power and it's perfect. I'm never taking it off. Unless I get stage 3. :4ngie:

Very sleeper! :D All you lost is most likely 10rwhp as Chris stated in the exhaust thread a while back, the stock loses 10rwhp over the Agency Power, El Diablo Track and other FI Friendly exhausts such as your Gruppe M. The stock still outflows many aftermarket such as the El Diablo Sport that made 18-20rwhp less than the stock exhaust at the same boost level (6psi) pump gas. I'm still pondering if the HPF Kit will quiet down or wakeup the already quiet and FI friendly Milltek exhaust as we know it quiets down the loud (in NA form) exhausts such as yours.
The 10rwhp or so loss and the 42lb weight gain you got from going back to stock (53lbs OEM vs. 11lbs Gruppe M) seems to be the combination that makes you feel like the car is just a tad slower.

i probably have better traction off the line though with the extra weight back there.

lol! Thank BMW for helping you plant back the rear since they screwed it up in the beginning by making the subframe weak, atleast they redeemed themselves a bit. ;) I like your innovative "traction control" system that also gives you a quiet exhaust note. Any videos to see how it sounds? I never heard an HPF car with the stock exhaust. I bet its great just to hear the S54, turbo spool and BOVs go off. :)

Just sound deaden your car and put a nice system in it, that way when you want to hear the exhaust you just roll down your windows...........my plan anyways.

Has anyone considered using electronic exhaust cut-outs? I have seen this kit installed mostly on hot-rods, but a quick google search shows them on all sorts of cars. Assuming no loss in performance I would think this would give you the best of both worlds and the flip of a switch.
