Just went for a ride in Brians HPF stage 2.5 car and all I can say WOW!!! My car feels slow all over again. Seriously this car pulls soooooo hard and that without full traction. The HPF traction control seems to be doing its job but there is still a little bit of slip (in a good way). My car doesnt even seem like its in the same league as this car, not even close. I love all the extra torque that it has over my car. I have to set up a race between both our cars to see the difference exactly. Does anyone have a trailer I can attach to his car to make this fair? Also this car is gonna hurt alot of peoples feelings looking like a total sleeper.
Heres a crappy vid for now until i can use a better camera

Brian congrats! Glad your car finally made it to you. Try to at least make it to the top of 4th gear and report back asap. :) Also don't know if you own a vbox but don't think about messing with my 60-130 time. :nono:

I have not had a chance to get to the top of 4th gear, but everything up to that is fun, fun. :woot: JP's setup on the traction control is sweet, I am gonna have to play around with it for a while to see what setting will work the best for my tires. I really need to get a set of DR's and really see what it can do. I'll drive it more tomorrow and give more feedback on the TC.

Hey Brian, did they find a way to take off SBBC or are you running SBBC all the time no matter what setting you have on the HPF TC (Off,Street,Race,Rain)?

i thought when BMW dsc is off and HPF tc is off, you're on your own totally. . .i hope so at least

hmm, i do remember him saying that. . .might have read our questions to him wrong.
im sure it plugs into the EMS. . .and can be unplugged in the worst case scenario IF it's always on:pimpin:

the SBBC is still on, it is in the AEM and can't be turned off without JP's laptop. Still, plenty of power and ramp up on the boost to just kill the tires. The traction control is wonderful. I am gonna drive it a few more times and then will post up a full assessment of the setup. :wowee:

what is the off switch for then, on the dial? or is that something separate?

the off switch if for the traction control. If you have that and the DSC off, hold on for dear life, spins in 1-4th gears. the SBBC is actually working well for this car. I just need to put on a set of real tires (aka DR's) and see if the ramp up needs changed.

Sounds great, I won't complain if the combination results in the maximum amount of power and traction available. It's allowing you to get the most out of your car: the power, speed, acceleration, etc. :)

The dial is for adjusting the actual traction control (separate from the speed based boost control). This T/C system is based on slew rate, meaning that when the system detects that the car is accelerating faster than it thinks is possible for the traction setting - it will limit power (pulling timing and/or other things). Each setting on the dial represents a different acceptable acceleration threshold.
Think of the dial as a fine-tuning tool, while speed based boost control limits power to the ballpark (but allowing more power than even good tires/road can hold).

I've come to realize the roads here in Vegas are poop. Just on pump gas (filled it up last night with 91oct) and meth turned off, I still spin pretty well on certain roads. The TC kicks in very smooth, but the roads just suck. It is supposed to warm up here later on in the week and will have to see if warmer tires and road will help. :pimpin:
