Brian and I woke up real early to drive out to Mexico to do some runs. After 7 hours of driving we made it to Mexico and realized both of our cars horns didnt work so we did a 1, 2, 3 with the fingers then go type thing. LOL. Brians car was the Camera car and is the stage 2.5. My car is the stage 2. On The first 3 runs, the stage 2.5 car is on pump gas only and the stage 2 car is on pump and methanol. On the last 2 runs, both cars are on pump and methanol. All runs in both cars were starting in 3rd gear.

sorry about the video quality, but its the best we could do.

Mexico is a good outlet for those out west. Here, for use in florida we have the inter gulf-carribean cuban raceway. It's a short trip.

Wow that really illustrates what the 2.5 can do. Is his 2.5 a 6MT as well?

Wow, awesome guys, not many 6MT HPFs around. I found out I have the only 6MT STG 3 right now. The other stg 3s are all SMG and HPFs car is a STG4. Nice being alone :str8pimpi

Very nice videos, good to see the Stage 2 hangs with 2.5 without Meth :) 2.5 sure is nice on meth tho, thats a hard pull!

That means you either need to go Stage 2.5 or up to Stage 3 to "even" this disadvantage. :woot:

Thanks for posting, from just dyno charts it's hard to fully appreciate how much of a difference there is between stage 2/2.5. My 60-130 time on pump is 7.03, which isn't far behind ST06M3's 6.86 time in his stage 2 running race/methanol. I think the upgrade to 2.5 is worth the cash.

Yea, if you compare the dyno's, all the runs make sense. Stage 2.5 pump vs. stage 2 pump+meth are VERY close on the dyno and the video shows that. When I flip the switch, well, all hell brakes loose in my car. :woot:

You also have to keep in mind various other factors, that are likely not going to make huge differences but have an impact nonetheless.. i.e. aftermarket wheels, BBK, different exhaust, other mods that affect weight, and of course the driver. I think wheels can be a significant factor (rolling mass), I have ultra lightweight RAC RG4's on my car - rears weigh 22 lbs each vs stock at closer to 30 lbs. I think traction is the biggest issue with these cars under 80 mph (for stage 2 or 2.5), even with the speed based boost control I understand the tires are breaking loose up to 4th gear. I'll be anxious to see how Brian's 60-130 times compare to mine. :)

Either that or parade around the local BMW dealership and wait for the new M cars(E92,E60,E63) to roll out. As soon as they run you they'll go back to the dealership and demand an explanation from the salesman to how that happened. ;)

I guess the BOV is not for everyone, I can see this not appealing to the more conservative crowd.
Although I think the BOV is an essential when running an HPF kit. It gives the people in traffic a hint of the monster residing under the hood. During highway encounters, im sure if you "blow your load" people wont even try to race after they hear that. :str8pimpi

Please... we need some HPF people to use a bluetooth connect microphone with their cameras inside the engine bay where the AEM EMS unit sits. Wind noise will not be a factor inside the shielded compartment but yet sits very close to the turbo. This will sound amazing with the turbo spool and BOV.

PS...the video is great guys, im expecting more great videos from both those monsters.
Can't wait to join the HPF family.
