Apparently, I have a lot of sludge and I'm working on cleaning it out with ARX. The guys at Bimmer Clinic told me that there's sludge in my Oil Seperator and it needs to be changed. I'm thinking about changing it out myself but could use some help. Has anyone in the area done it before? By they way, I'm in bayside.

That's a pain in the ass job, takes like 5/6 hours if you know what you are doing. Unfortunately I didn't do mine yet. Bump for helping out another member.

Just spoke to a mechanic I went to a few times in LI. He's pretty reliable and I know his prices are ok. He told me that the parts are about $250 and the labor is about $225. He also suggested that I flush the engine first so the sludge doesn't creep into the new oil separator. I think I'll do the ARX first a couple of times and tackle the oil separator myself when the weather gets warmer. If anyone is interested in their car, I'd be willing to help out as well. 2 heads are better than one. Ordering ARX and MityVac today.

I considered doing it myself. But, the bimmer specialist I went to said it would cost 550 Bucks in Labor! :yikes:And 170 For the part. If I was you I'd take it to your guy. Where is he located? I think this guy is screwing me, I recently paided him 725 bucks for a 2 hr Job.

I have 2 guys I take my car to. In LI there's Specialty Car Line. One man operation, his name is Roger 516 876 2063. I believe he used to be a BMW mech. His prices are really fair and he'll tell you if you really need something or not. The other place is in NJ, Bimmer Clinic. I can't find the number but you can search for it. Shop is really good, just far away from me.
