View Full Version : .::DIY for coupe component install?::.already searched

im doing my coupe component install and i cant find a DIY to cut the fender and how to install the mid bass. Its 6.5 inches and 3.25 inch deep. i searched and i couldnt find an actual DIY detailing what i would have to do. Can anyone chime in on this issue?

as far as cutting?

use a dremel or air saw.... make sure you grind, sand, prime, and paint the metal afterwards.

I woudl actually recommend againt the dremel idea, personally. I used a 4 inch hole saw to make a space for the magnet to recess a little bit, and the hole saw made a perfect cut---it looks factory.

i didnt need to cut the metal i just cut the door, it sticks out a bit but im gonna eventually cut the door
about 1 inch :/ w.e. its cool the door closes

You should definitely cut the metal and mount the speaker to the door frame instead... Do a Google search for BMW HK speaker replacement or similar - I found an excellent piece on the Coupe that way. The guy did a step by step, pics and everything. I think the change in mount will improve things the most, with any replacement.
