project aktiv3

hey guys ive been saving up for a while now and recently purchaced a s54 with 6spd tranny with complete rear-end and putting it in a 99 328i e46 im going to keep you guys posted and will update with pictures. im doing all the work myself in my shop at the house. my plans were that i was going to go with a hpf stg1 kit but chris at hpf said that he didnt want to sell me one seeing that alot of parts wouldnt fit...so now in a couple of months after i get the motor in im going to run either aa stg2 or go with a custom turbo set up.

installing alot of extras and will mention below...

i will also get a list together. i work at a bmw dealer and will get a price list and parts together to help out with anyone wanting to do the swap.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS

extras---

aa headers (wrapped)
aa gen3 exhaust(no cats)
aa ssk level 2
hpf subframe bushings( race version)
vac-differential busgings
uuc motor and tranny mounts(race version)
vac steel braided clutch line
tms rear control arms
tms sway bars with endlinks
tms reinforcement kit (f&r) already done
h&r rss coilovers already installed
brembo 4 piston bbk( will buy toward end of install and will upgrade to m3 rear brakes.

my m52tu with 5 spd tranny with driveshaft and complete rear-end is for sale

i want to thank allthe guys on here for all the help ....activ3 for the rear all all others

also chris, david, andy at hpf---tms,uuc,vac,and jean at aa and to anyone i left out

sounds awesome, i plan on doin this same thing one day its awesome we have the same project car this will help me greatly im sure. i wonder what parts dont fit with the hpf turbo and how hard it would be to make them fit?

A55A55IN
05-01-2009, 03:12 PM
hmmm what parts wouldn't fit?? did he say that because your car is sedan??

Aktiv3
05-01-2009, 07:48 PM
he didnt say really why just that he didnt want to sell it to me because alot parts wouldnt fit, and i really want to go turbo so i can get serious power but crap loads of torgue. i have a guy in town that builds custom kits and he said that he can make one well under what hpf is asking, not to take anything away from hpf, chris and his guys are awesome and they are great to work with im going to get more info on the kit, if i for sure cant use it then im either going with a custom setup or go with an aa stg2 kit and hope for 500rwhp..

ill get pictures up tonite guys. im bout to go out to my shop and start to drop the m52tu and tranny and then start to plant the s54. any questions feel free to ask

yes i used everything from a m3 because of the exact same reason, the non-m hubs wouldn't fit...s oi had to buy trailing arms brakes etc....
