We are trying to get my friend's 2005 BMW m3 with the active autowerke stage 2 gen 3 and water meth to pass inspections.
We had Active turn on everything on the DME and we've driven the car at least 250 miles since then. I/M monitors shows three incompletes
Catalyst Mon
Oxygen sensor Mon
Oxygen sensor HTR
we need at max 1 incomplete. If the question is illegal whether or not o2 sims work, then my question is, how come, if there is a fault with the cats, no check engine lights come on or anything. Everything runs normal and everything checks out but the only thing is that we aren't getting any response from via CEL regarding the cats. Excuse my english by the way.
We just need this car to pass inspection for the state of NC. It was previously a FL car.

sounds like you need to pay someone money and get this done with just registration papers minus the car..but ofcourse i didnt say that.

thanks for the suggestion dude. umm we thought about that. but when they do OBDII testing, the car's vin number is taken from the car and then compared to the vin number that is entered. there will be a problem for us and the shop we take it to.
So we kinda have to get the car right. lol Thanks north carolina:hi:

the laws here in Cali are much more stricter and have the same vin number realtime to dmw thingy..but they still get around this no prob..
I dont know anything else than that :p

Might try the O2 sensor spacers to reduce the gas exposure to the post-cat sensors; worked for NC inspection on my set-up. Good luck.

well see the thing is. we are trying to get the car to show us that the cats are faulty in the first place before we start doing that stuff.
I mean we are playing to do AUTOBOTs o2 sim eventually. I'm gonna use BMW carsoft to figure out if the post cat sensors are on. If they are then there is something else wrong because a check engine light is not being thrown.
Thanks for the advice performance nut and machRc im just looking for any advice at the moment lol.

did the previous owner tamper with the light? Does it appear when in initial ignition on position?

no the light is fine and everything. we just need to chek to see if it is turned on. and GT1 is confusing.
Maybe active forgot to turn it on.
