GT-1 said that my air intake temp is 80 degree C.:bawling:
It is normal, or not?

And is it possible that the high air intake temp come from oil separator?

How can I reduce the temp?

Now, I installed AA C38-71, stage I (excluded intercooler).

Thanks

With the ESS heat exchanger I average around 45 degrees intake air temp, so an intercooler should do the job for you

my ITAT were around 50C degrees at idle at 36C ambient temps. At WOT on the dyno, the intercooler got it below 35C, on the dyno, I assume it'll do better on the road. But when I used straight meth, it dropped to ~16C .

Arn't your IAT's being read from the MAF? If so, there is no way it can be that high before the blower...

I believe his 323ia has the older IAT location, ie intake manifold.

I'm not entirely sure about Ms: i think S54 and euroS50s use the MAF as the only source of IAT. And though nonMs have MAF as a natural consideration of IAT, we have a IAT probe in the plastic intake manifold. So it's pretty close to the block. things can get cooking quiet warm.

My MS43 / M54 has the temp sensor in the intake manifold

Ahhh, that's cool that it's in the mani...

Kinda curious but how do you guys read your air intake temps?

Ok the temp reading is pre-TS2 install in the middle of the summer hence the higher temp. I did this with Carsoft 6.1.

I *think* you can access the intake temp info through the Instrument cluster functions as well

So a laptop is needed for this, got it

The 323/328 (MS42 ecu) and 2001-2002 325/330 (MS43 ecu) have the air temp sensor in the intake manifold. The 2003-2005 325/330 (MS45 ecu) have the air temp sensor in the MAF sensor. The E46 M3 has the air temp sensor in the MAF also.

I was in eastern WA last weekend, it was 107 outside!! my car was not to happy with me when I turned the AC on, I swear I could hear my car say WTF.. Dont worry about your air temp, your car pulls timing to deal with high temps.

Through OBD port. SAE J1979 is the standard protocol that all US bound cars have to comply. So the IAT can be read but transmitting/receiving codes through the port.

I have a decoder that reads all necessary readings and outputs a screen (on right in the picture). Data logging possible too.

Not sure if you can see...but it shows IAT = 18C in the pic.

:drool::drool: You have a SSG transmission?

I'm assuming based on the complexity of the interior that we're talking about a track car. Any similar devices for daily drivers?
