Ran into a Nissan GT-R on the motorway yesterday. These are extremely rare around here, second one I've seen and I drive all over the country (they retail at $210k here so you can guess why).

There was an older guy driving it. I came along side and gave him the thumbs up, which promted him to smile and accelerate with a lot of noise. He let me catch up again and there was some more exchange of friendly gestures.

So at that point I decided it'd be decent to see the difference between a really fast car, and mine which isn't fast at all (328 TS2, VANOS seals fixed, on 98 octane, 2.93 diff, 5mt). And of course, make this guy wonder what a guy driving a 10-year BMW was thinking...

We started pulling from 60mph, 3rd gear for me. By the time we hit ~125mph, his brake lights came on and he had about 5-6 car lengths on me. Which, to be fair, was a lot less than I expected.

Decent kit, ESS!
And btw, I need new brakes. We kept toying around a bit and when he really smashed the pedal in the middle, I did worry for just a second!:yikes:

Wow, I though you would do better then 5 6 cars but awesome. I bet it was fun!!

Sure was fun!
But don't overestimate my car's performance. The TS2 is not supported by cams/headers or anything, and I have a full interior with all the weight you can possibly think of (only weight-saving bit is my CSL trunk). No 3.46 diff, and about a 150bhp/150ftlb handicap.
GT-R is way out of my league so I never expected to keep up. All that considered, the difference after a 100+kph pull wasn't too bad.

Leuk!, spelen met een GTR

Zijn zeker zeldzaam hier, mooie post voor het "gespot" topic in Nl.

Nice car, rare indeed in The Netherlands.
To bad you couldn't keep up :), I'm surprised you could "play" at all on the jammed Dutch roads
