Beer + power tools

YES!!!! My kind of peoples.

What sub is that and how much does it weigh? I'm thinking of ditching the crappy HK sub for something equal in weight to place were you have yours.

its a jl 10w3. as for the frame it doesnt weigh much...i actually made a few extras if people wanted them. so let me know if your interested in it.... it bolts into place using the stock screws that hold the black plastic ski pass thru....

Looks good so far. We are finishing up a convertible M3 right now with 2 8w7 firing thru the ski shoot. Pics will be up sometime next week.

Wow, that's really slick.

My 01 M3 has the fold down seats, but the ski hole behind the armrest isn't punched out. Is something like this still possible?

Yes its still possible. Just have to cut the piece out. It is already marked where to cut it..

That's what I figured.

What do you do to the back of the seat though? Do you cut a matching hole and just let the sub hang out as if it's an infinite baffle setup?

Meaning u could seal it up instead of using the sub infinite baffle..

Any progress? Did you ever cover up the front of the sub?

How does it sound running this sub infinite baffle since it doesn't appear to be an infinite baffle sub? Do you loose the tightness of the bass?

You lose some response from the sub with it running infinite baffle. It wont hit the real low notes.

Thanks!

Curious as to why the OP, didn't go with a infinite baffle sub instead?

After further resarch it appears the Infinity sub I have sitting in the garage from my E36 is indeed infinite baffle:

I also have still have the 300W Rockford amp that I used to power it. Looks like I have a new weekend project...
