[I moved this from the general forum]

OK, I have a 2000 328i with HK system. Bought it used - got a great deal, but I am an audio nut and I simply must upgrade this cheesy factory system - at least the [non-existent] bottom end.

Does anyone have any wiring diagrams or a "how-to" for disconnecting the rear deck speakers so I can install a couple of subs?

Is there a subwoofer in this HK system or is it just the rear decks I hear back there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

No help available? I'm pretty adept, but don't want to rip into my BMW without some advice.....

If you are referring to the speakers on the rear deck that fire inside the cabin then just pop out the speaker grills. Then there are three bolts holding down the speakers...i think its 8 mm socket will take them out. As far as teh subs then I'm no help since I have the non-hk system

You're trying to install the OEM HK subs? That picture is the HK "subs" and their itty bitty little amp on the far right side. The other amp is for the main speakers.

If you have the HK system you should already have all that stuff.

i don't have an hk system. i thought they were going to be plug and play but unfortunately.. only the amp is plug and play so i have no idea on how to connect the subs i didn't want to go through the hassle of installing new subs so i just went ahead and got them thinking was going to be much easier for me for me to install them...

In the first post you said you had the HK system. If not you need the wiring bundle to go from the main amp to the sub amp, then from the sub amp to the other sub. If the HK is not present, I don't know how you would get that wiring in there (I think it's part of the main stereo wiring).

At this point you might be better off just looking at the JL Stealthbox or one of the solutions from BSW.
