Hello,
Im contacting you to see if you could assist me with a nightmare im having with my e39 540i. I saw a post you made on a good list of probable causes of why car wouldn't start and read something that good my attention...
"""" Immobilizer (EWS)
A faulty EWS module, a key that is not coded to the module, or damaged will prevent the engine from starting.... """""
If you hear a beep with the key in the ignition and the driver's door open, the EWS is recognizing the key. ??
Trying to start the car with a second key is another simple way of ruling out a no start due to a non working key."
I have a 540i 99' i just changed the battery on the keyfob and then after 1 day and having removed the abs module and rear passenger regulator and also accidently letting key on 2nd position while removing window reguator the car dosent crank. I know you might think its the battery but i charged it. I will see if i get current on the starter.
Hope you can help me best regards!
