Hey there, im having a very hard time following the instructions for the wiring of the clutch switch for the 5 speed conversion. I understand how all the wires from the module connect to the appropriate places, but I am completely and utterly confused on how to connect the switch in the pedal assembly. I thought the adapter lead plugged into it, but the connectors don't fit, so how do I connect wires to it? please help me out in any way possible, ive been stressing hard over this problem for like 2 weeks, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hey buddy I really need your help I have some problems with my BMW and I've read all your posts relating to it, just wondering if I can run this by you.

    1. Low Idle. Idle drops under electrical load. Natural idle is 620RPM when in D. Idle Drops to 550RPM when coming to a stop.
    2. RPM slightly raises when coming off the accelerator when over 2000RPM.
    3. RPM Fluctuates when on light accelerator and cruising, mostly downhill. At worst the car does feel like its jumping back and forth.
    4. today, when was at a stop I accelerated hard, power was sent to engine but something was holding me back. All of a sudden it felt like something that was holding me back let go. No hard jolt into gear, just finally started going.

I really think it's my TC. I've checked several things in the car. I am about to pull the trigger on a reconditioned TC. Just wondering what you thought it might me and what symptoms may or may not suggest a TC.

    No codes are being given.

    Hello.

    I have an e46 330d.

I had an automatic 5spd transmission and I swapped to a 6 speed manual.

I have coded a part of my car, everything works without any dashboard lights on, but the cruise control is not woring and I have a permanent error on DDE with EGS missing.

I understand that I need a SA for my car to be written on KBM and EWS for manual transmission.. If i give you my SA can you tell me the good one for manual tranny? Thanks.

hey i saw your diy 5 speed swap, i recently purchased one that someone had already done. the only thing he didn't do was hook up the clutch switches. the guy had bypassed the ews by cutting the ignition wires that go into it and splicing them together. not sure if he did anything else to get the car to start. from my understanding the car shouldn't have ran just by splicing those wires. is there anything else i should look for that he did to get it to start? i since hooked everything up per your instructions and put it back the right way as far as i can see. is the clutch module needed? the donor car i got the switches from didn't have it,they had two switches. coded everything but my abs, traction light , airbag lights and manipulation dot wont go out. there is no check engine light. the car runs and drives fine lots of power.

any input would be greatly appreciated thanks.

    Hello dear fanatic!
I saw your interior project, and let me say that you did an awesome work:clap:!Glad that it worked well and it keeps up to today!

I just want to ask what kind of dye you used for the headliner and pillars.I looked into the thread but I only saw cinnamon dye, i didn`t found anything about the black, my bad.

Can you tell me the brand/ of the dye, and how is the most safest to work with it?
At the end you recommended to soak the headliner into the dye, isn`t that going to make the material fall of?It is acrylic, if it had no problem with the adesive, right?

Thank you, and I`m waiting a reply from you!

    Sorry for my bad english:eek:.

Hey Neil, I am doing a cinnamon leather dye very similar to the one you posted about. Is there anything other than what you posted already that could help me achieve the best results? So Far I have take the entire back interior out and cleaned them with leather cleaner and then with water, Now I am just letting them sit for 24-48 hours like you said and then I will begin the sanding with leather prep. Then on to the dye when the 6 hours of that has ended. Thanks for the help in advance.

What dye did you use to dye the carpets and headliner in your interior project thread? Starting my project next weekend and would like to order this dye in time for the project. Thanks!

Hi, I am a contented owner of a remapped 2004 e46 330d manual sport saloon, and currently curious about some claims outthere that this car can be enhanced/upgraded to over 300hp, making my ears prick up a little, anyone have any further knowledge about who/how/where with any regard to this upgrade. Thanks.

Hey Neil I read your coding section and its the best info I got so far I just have two questions for you. Did you buy the GT1 with program/sss and if so where did you find it???? Also does it auto program after you select the options or do you do the actual coding yourself? These lights on my dash need to go off already and these dealers around me are unable to do this.

    Hello

I´ve done the gearbox swap to my 320ci cabrio 2002 !
The only " problem" that i have is when i want to change gear, when i press the clutch pedal, the rpm go up 500/1000 revs ! Its so strange !

Its already programed as a Manual by the local dealership, my last thougts is try to change de gas pedal ? I still have the original one ( automatic ) and i had already bought one from a manual ( they are diferent ) .

    Any thoughts ?

Ps: Sorry for my english .

    Hello,

I recently experienced the same reverse transmission problem on my 2000 323ci BMW. I took the time to read your very informative post http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=706809. When I put it into Reverse Gear and accelerate the car seems to slowly move and im not sure if it is just rolling or actually clicking into gear, but you can still hear the engine revving hard. I'm definitely not a car expert, but as you probably imagine, I am reluctant to give up on this car. In this case, how do you know if its a GM or ZF transmission? Any insight on this problem would be much appreciated! =)

    Best Regards

Thanks for the opinion bud. I was thinking the same after seeing the pictures in your thread. Not sure how it will look with the all black seats given that I have the tan carpet... Hopefully with the two tone door panels and black floormats will allow the black seats to fit in... do you have any thoughts on painting the seat backs tan? The plastic wraps around a good bit so i know it would be rather visible: http://bmwmregistry.com/media/E46M3seats.jpg

.. guess I should just install them and, once i can see how it looks, try and figure it out.

I wonder what a new seat-back costs? Maybe buy new ones, dye them in tan, and compare

    Yo Neil,

So I am doing a new interior makeover with some black seats... question is as follows : I am going to be doing a black rear bench and have black seats for the front. I am not sure though how I want to incorporate tan, if at all, into the setup.

I saw this pic http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2649/4164917652_9a58cbbcd0_b.jpg where you have the tan plastic bottom with the black leather. Given that the interior looks like this, http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3459/3398695490_eca20cd61a.jpg I was thinking it might look halfway decent...

So, would you suggest trying to reuse the tan plastic base or, my other idea, was the paint the seatback tan to match the rest of the door panel.

    Thoughts?

Hey Neil, I saw your thread on dying your interior, etc.

Im thinking about doing a complete change to my color scheme... I have tan right now. I was wondering if there is a problem with the airbag light coming on when taking the seats out to paint? Also, did you dye your carpets? Sorry I have only read about 5 pages or so.

    Thanks
