2 for the top pads, one on each side. Jack up the car, remove rear wheel, remove the lower shock mounting bolt. This is the fun part, using the factory jack, spread the rear control arm down by putting the base of the jack next to the spring on the control arm and making sure the top of the jack is pushing up on the unibody above. This will force the arm down and your spring will literally fall out. replace the pad, release the jack and put everything back in reverse order. This really is a great way to save $100 to $150 in labor at your shop.
